Greeeeeeeetings, Kingdom Hearts Wiki! As you surely have realized 8y now, our amount of active staff mem8ers has 8lunderfully decreased. We 8n't got a lot more administr8ors who are around enough to manage this place regularly at this point. It will not 8e good if we allow this to 8ecome even worse, or even terri8le! D::::
8ut, there is a solution. I discussed this with one of your human leaders, Kr8tenKoro, and we are in 8eautiful agreement. Yes, that's right!!!!!!!! The time has come to consider the possi8ility of staff el8ctions and nomin8ions! ::::)
As you can eeeeeeeeasily see on the staff mem8ers page, there are many inactive staff mem8ers. However, even worse is the fact that so many of the active administr8ors and moder8ors are hardly active at all!!!!!!!! Having the special rights of a staff mem8er is USELESS if the staff mem8er is not even active! 8ecause of this, it is very pro8a8ly time to 8uffer up and revamp the staff of the site.
The time to act is N8W!!!!!!!! The longer we wait, the more d8nger the s8te's l8dersh8p is in! We need new m8ture, act8ve leaders f8r the st8ff, w8th the p8wer of the G8D TIER! Not anyone like Tavros or his imagin8ry Rufio friend or those f8key f8ke f8ke f8ries!!!!!!!!
Pl8se l8ve your opinions 8elow on this import8nt matter!!!!!!!!
Pchoooooooo!!!!!!!!

Well, I'm not really asking to become a staff member, but I'm normally active everyday. However, whenever a meeting is on, I'm usally asleep, so that's one thing that I'm unable to do if I were to be a staff member. Another holdup is that I've got admin rights at another wiki. But if you guys want to nominate me, I'm okay with it.
The only good skills I've got for this wiki are for gathering infomation for KHII and BbS to help write down the walkthroughs. I also correct spelling errors on the pages for the said games.

Meh, I'd say maybe one more Admin is necessary, so move someone up to Admin status, then get two or three new mods. For mods, I'd recommend Inexistent or As if. I think that getting new mods is a more pressing issue, considering that we only have two fully active ones.
EDIT: It seems As if has gone "majorly inactive", so perhaps we should wait to nominate him.

Eternal Nothingness XIII - This heart belongs again to darkness. All worlds begin in darkness, and all so end. The heart is no different. Darkness sprouts within it—it grows, consumes it. Such is its nature. In the end, every heart returns to the darkness whence it came. TALK - Your body submits, your heart succumbs—so why does your mind resist? — 17:59, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

No, No, No, No, NO!!!
This whole process, whenever we do it, always leads to complete and utter chaos, not to mention unnecessary Wiki-drama. To me, this Wiki does not receive enough IP/newbie activity for a bunch of inactive staff to be a problem, so long as at least two are actually still contributing! This Wiki, in comparison to The Keyhole, is dead in general (very little day-by-day activity from all users, etc.).
While I personally am against this whole thing, I would have to agree with Chitalian8. If anything, promote a user like The Inexistent or As if! to Moderator status. I would then promote one or two of the deserving users on our current list of Moderators to Administrator status so new Moderators can be added to the list.
If anything, lack of trusted regulars is the problem here, not inactive staff who don't edit 24/7. What I feel the Wiki needs is a group of trusted regulars who can watch it as often as possible for the occasional vandal or other issue while making good contributions, and then notify staff if a problem arises so that it may be properly dealt with. Staff in general are only truly needed when you have a site like The Keyhole, where "powers" such as deletion and the like are constantly needed to deal with the issues there (Staffers, ask yourselves this: "When was the last time you had to block a vandal or delete anything other than images here?"). I rest my case.

It's sad but ENX has a point, this Wiki is almost dead (personally, I didn't show up very much because I knew there wasn't gonna be much activity in here) and Mods and Admins's jobs are to keep vandals in line, which is almost never occurred in here.
And if we still decided to go along with this, I'd recommend Chitalian and EnglishJoker for Mod position based on activity.

...so yeah. Make more mods if you feel the need to, although I don't. As has been said, we get little to no vandals here and apparently KH3D isn't bringing in any notable new users, so we don't really need shiny new management or weapons.
are you happy now chitalian

I hate to say it, like, hardcore hate... a pain unrivaled by even stepping upon a Lego... but I feel as if making me staff any time soon would be a not so good idea, if I were to win an election. I haven't been active, and I probably won't be too present here again until... sometime. Wow, I fail at being specific.
ANYWAY.
If there is to be a new moderator, I would say As If! or Chitalian, unless Chitalian has removed himself from the opportunity. KRCCFNF is tired of being STEPPED ON. 04:15, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

GRAAAAUUUUGHNCK
OK, time for me to have an opinion.
It is important for us to have a functional staff. This continues to be true even during a slow time.
HOWEVER. It seems to me that even if we do promote our editors, we have one or two underlying problems that need to be addressed. Biggest of which is how we currently treat the role of staff. While mods and admins certainly have a responsibility to handle vandals and newbies, THIS SHOULD NOT BE THEIR PRIMARY ROLE. what their PRIMARY role should be is to oversee and encourage editing. And until we recognize that this is an under-served aspect of being a member of staff, and that this needs to change, we will continue to have this cycle of promoting people only to watch them slowly become another inactive staff member.
So what now, then. We can promote some of our reliable and consistent (and hopefully regular) editors to staff. But at that point we need to turn our focus on redefining our role as staff members, and if we can, give a much-needed boost to our activity. We cannot rely on the upcoming KH3D release being enough to do that. It should be our responsibility to keep things moving.
Obviously I am aware that we all have real lives, and the most responsible of us have other responsibilities that will interfere with their activity here. As staff, though, there's no reason why we can't cover for each other. The fact is, we have articles that need work, projects that need people, AND AS LONG AS WE STILL HAVE REGULAR EDITORS, THERE'S NO REASON WHY THESE CAN'T RECEIVE THE ATTENTION THEY NEED. Staff needs to mobilize the common editors, because despite Doorsey's wonderful Homestuck reference, we staff are not gods by any definition/stretch of the imagination.
So let's promote someone we can REALLY use on staff, and then let's start some home improvement.
