- —Awakening The Dream Sword (ソードオブドリーム Sōdo obu Dorīmu, lit. "Sword of Dream") is a weapon from Kingdom Hearts, and is the only weapon unique to Sora. It appears in Sora's Awakening, alongside the Dream Shield and Dream Rod. These three weapons represent the paths Sora can take - that of the warrior, the guardian, or the mystic. Once Sora leaves his awakening, the Dream Sword disappears. Unlike the other two weapons, which can later be obtained by Donald Duck and Goofy, the Dream Sword does not explicitly appear later in the game. However, it is the core of the first Ultima Weapon keychain, Sora's most powerful weapon.
Sora can either choose to wield, discard, or ignore this weapon, determining his initial stats, his max AP, MP, and Item Slots, and in what order he learns abilities. By choosing the Dream Sword, Sora's stats will focus on Strength, and he will learn abilities such as Combo Plus earlier than on the other two paths.
The Dream Sword appears in Roxas' Awakening in Kingdom Hearts II, but immediately becomes the Keyblade if chosen. Its purpose is the same as in Kingdom Hearts.
Appearance
The Dream Sword is a generic short sword with a small black Hidden Mickey symbol on the hilt.
