For some time now, one of my biggest pet peeves has been the lack of article usage in certain articles (i.e. : a, the, an, etc.)
I've seen countless sentences written here that leave a foul taste on my tongue because of this, examples being :
- Riku Replica is a replica made by Vexen from Riku's combat data.
- Land Armor is an Emblem Heartless found in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
- Ultima Weapon is a Keyblade obtained through item synthesis.
While the preferred method would be :
- The Riku Replica is a replica made by Vexen from Riku's combat data.
- The Land Armor is an Emblem Heartless from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.
- The Ultima Weapon is a Keyblade obtained through item synthesis.
The only reason I bring this issue up is because everywhere else I look (in-game, guidebooks, interviews, etc.), they put articles before everything in the Enemy, Weapon, and (in Riku Replica's case) Character categories. There also seems to be an issue regarding which articles are used. Some users suggest things be phrased like :
- A Land Armor is an Emblem Heartless from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.
I personally think "the" sounds better. It's also grammatically correct. True, "a" also works, but I've seen "the" used a lot more often, considering "a" would only work with Heartless. I suppose "the" would be used if there was only one of something, like the Guard Armor, the Ultima Weapon, or the Riku Replica, and "a" could be used for things that have more than one member, such as the Shadows, Dusks, and Floods (the Shadow-like Unversed for those who don't know all ready).
Sometimes, articles don't even have to be used. All we have to do is make the bolded text at the start of the article plural, but that screws up how it matches the title :
- Shadows are the weakest Pureblood Heartless.
Regardless of what we decide, it should be carried throughout the article, not just for one section. This should also be added to the new MoS once we reach a verdict.

May I also bring up the grammar rule on using "a" and "an". "A" is to be used before a word with a consonant sound: such as,"I see a book. "An" on the other hand is to be used before words with a vowel sound (a, e, i, o, u, both soft and hard pronunciations). For example: "I see an apple." You should NEVER use "a" or "an" like: "I read an book" or "I eat a apple." These are big NO NO's!!! Sorry, when it comes to grammar, sometimes I have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). I just can't stand it.

Eternal Nothingness XIII - Well, I got something out of it, too. I learned that you don't always have to bend the rules to reach your goals. TALK - Oy, sometimes you are such a girl. — 19:57, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

Oh, I hear you there. But I think we're smart enough to realize that, at lest the decent contributors who are actually willing to make these changes are. Thanks for the reminder, nonetheless.

What about articles in the page titles? I thought it was against our policy to have articles in the page titles, but experiences with an editor making redirects caused me to have second thoughts, when I saw the first sentences were formatted like this :
- The Emperor rules all of China.
- The Queen tried to poison Snow White.
Many of the Birth by Sleep characters share this issue. Below is a list that I could find of all pages in question :
I'm sure there are others, but I just haven't come across them yet.

I think the character pages should have the same name as the character's name in the Journal. That means that it should be The Emperor and The Mayor. I don't know about the BBS characters, as they don't have an English Trinity Report entry yet.

I agree. If Square thought they should have an article in front of they're name we should probably put one there.
