As this is the first spoiler policy I've had to write, I know that you guys can suggest ways to improve it or clarify something before we have to make it official. So...suggest away.

what about a coded spoiler policy

TALK -
Six months, especially for until after the European release, seems extremely excessive. Especially as this is the English KH wiki, we should only need to concern ourselves for when English versions come out; in that case, how many English European readers don't just import the games or watch them on youtube?

But at most, I think two weeks after the European release would be reasonable.

As for the punishment bit...it seems completely counter to the purpose and spirit of a wiki, which is to encourage valid contributions and information. I am completely unable to agree with it.

On a final note, I would suggest that only plot information be considered spoilers - game engine and items are barely information at all, much less spoilers.

It's such a shame. The Organization used to be the rope that bound us together. - {{{time}}}

Keyblade-Blk.png I agree that only plot information should get the spoiler treatment. I mean, hiding every other thing in the game is just silly, this is the KH Wiki. People should know that there's going to be spoilers before they even enter.

I think now would be a good time to get that spoiler policy going though, since someone was able to get their hands on the game already.

Alrighty...so just plot information. I can certainly get behind that. The six month was a rule I borrowed from a forum I frequent, but if everyone thinks that excessive, again, that's fine by me. Just remember not everyone here can or will be able to get hold of the game right away, and we want to give a fair chance for them to play without ruining it for them. Also, remember not everyone comes to the wiki pages through the front page; a fair number of visitors come from off-wiki links and search engines, and so may not be aware what they're getting into.

The strikes are not for those who want to add info to the wiki, it's to keep people from abusing it. I can easily see (and have seen, actually) people posting unmarked plot spoilers in articles or threads just to be nasty, kind of like that whole "Snape Kills Dumbledore" thing from a few years back. The way I see it, most people who are actually editing to help may not be aware of the new policies; a polite warning will let them know what's going on and that will be the end of it. I seriously doubt it will come to strikes with anyone, but I'd rather have a policy here and now rather than have to throw something together should someone decide to be a prat. Since we'll rephrasing other things, I work on rephrasing that as well.

Thanks for your input, guys!
