Lightning Ray

Lightning Ray (ライトニングレイ, Raitoningu Rei) is a technique in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. The attack consists of the user cloaking themself in light and repeatedly rushing at targets with lightning speed.

Mechanics

In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Lightning Ray is a Shotlock that has a maximum level of 4 and max lock of 18. After the initial attack, the player can perform extra attacks by pressing when prompted to rush opponents at an even faster speed.

Lightning Ray is a Shotlock Command that can be melded through seven different recipes.

• The first recipe can be melded by Terra, Ventus, and Aqua, and is a type P recipe that has a 10% chance of transforming from Sonic Blade.
  • Air Slide (LV4) + Blitz (LV4)
• The second recipe can only be melded by Aqua, and is a type P recipe that has a 10% chance of transforming from Magic Hour.
  • Barrier Surge (LV3) + Aeroga (LV4)
• The third recipe can only be melded by Terra, and is a type E recipe that has a 10% chance of transforming from Sonic Blade.
  • Dark Haze (LV2) + Blitz (LV4)
• The fourth recipe can be melded by Terra, Ventus, and Aqua, and is a type G recipe that has a 10% chance of transforming from Thundaga.
  • Thundara (LV3) + Binding Strike (LV3)
• The fifth recipe can be melded by Terra, Ventus, and Aqua, and is a type O recipe that has a 10% chance of transforming from Thundaga.
  • Thundara (LV3) + Thundara (LV3)
• The sixth recipe can be melded by Terra, Ventus, and Aqua, and is a type C recipe that has a 10% chance of transforming from Thundaga.
  • Thunder (LV3) + Thundara (LV3)
• The seventh recipe can be melded by Terra, Ventus, and Aqua, and is a type G recipe that has a 10% chance of transforming from Sonic Blade.
  • Thunder Surge (LV4) + Fire Dash (LV4)
