The Experiment is an artificial being created by Dr. Finkelstein. It is a boss of Kingdom Hearts II, and is fought in Halloween Town.
Journal Entry
Dr. Finkelstein's puppet creation. Unlike Sally, it didn't have a heart - so it went to find one in the love that's bundled with all presents.
Story
The Experiment is part of the story of the second visit to Halloween Town. It is an experiment Dr. Finkelstein is under-going. It is actually seen on the first visit, lying on the table in Finkelstein's research lab. It resembles Guard Armor (although it is not a Heartless), in the fact that it is comprised of many different parts.
Finkelstein thought that the Experiment was a failure, and left it. But it comes to life as he wanted it to, and begins stealing presents from Santa Claus's workshop. Sora, Donald, Goofy and Jack Skellington, who is still obssessed with Christmas, investigate to try and capture the thief.
The group lures the thief into the Christmas Town square with presents, where they discover the thief is the Experiment. They fight the creature and defeat it in a boss battle. The Experiment uses a host of different attacks based on a part of its body during the fight.
When they defeat it, the group is told by Santa Claus that the Experiment was probably just looking for a heart. It thought that the joy of presents would give it a heart. When told of this theory, Dr. Finkelstein agrees that this theory is very probable, as he did not give the creature a heart.
Trivia
- The Experiment is the only non-Heartless, non-Nobody, non-Disney, and non-Final Fantasy boss besides Riku and the Hostile Program in Kingdom Hearts II.
