Kingdom Hearts -3D HD ReMIX- is an HD remake compilation of the Kingdom Hearts series. It includes full HD remasters of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. This is another attempt by Square Enix to stall Kingdom Hearts III even further.
Development
In an interview in the September 25, 2014 issue of Famitsu, before the release of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, Tetsuya Nomura expressed regret that Kingdom Hearts 3D would be the only completed installment of Kingdom Hearts not remastered in HD. In an exclusive interview with KHInsider, Nomura said that an HD remaster of Kingdom Hearts 3D on its own would not have the same level of appeal as the 1.5 and 2.5 collections.[1]
On March 29, Square Enix announced the upcoming release of Kingdom Hearts -3D HD ReMIX- on Twitter, packaging full remakes of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded along with the remaster of Kingdom Hearts 3D.[2] When asked whether and how the games' unique mechanics from the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS would be translated to the planned platforms for the collection's release, Nomura reportedly answered, "F*** that noise."
