TALK - One day, the light-it will be ours, and it will bring us together. Til then, I'll be in your heart...
Excuse me, but would some please tell me when Kingdom Hearts II Vol. 3 & 4 will come out. I'd heard rumors about TOKYOPOP, or whatever it's called about discontinuing the translation. I heard others about it having some troubles, and they have to delay the release date. And some I heard, that the Mangas are already out, but I can't find them anywhere! Can someone please help me? And tell me the real reason why the Manags aren't out yet?

11liu53.png ALSO, STOP DANCING. IT'S AWFUL.

11liu53.png I'm not sure about the English translations and discontinuation and all that, but the graphic novels are already out, but in Japanese (I plan to buy No. 4 sooner or later) at my local Japanese bookstore. I read one comment on discontinuation involving financial stuff. I also noticed that the translation publishing dates are approximately 1 year apart.

I'm not sure if this helps, but it's the most I can do.

My understanding is that the Volume 3 and any volumes past that have been delayed indefinitely. It was supposed to release on December 30, 2008, but that didn't happen. Amazon lists the item with the infamous "Sign up to be notified when this becomes available notice." It also lists Vol 4. as being available for order, but given the reviews included with it, this is apparently a misprint for an older volume from the first game. George B. This lists all of the KH2 and even the KHFM manga being out for at least a year. It's just the dubbed versions that have been held up, because nobody gives a damn about the US market, for some reason.Glorious CHAOS! 07:40, September 3, 2009 (UTC)

Earthshaker Keychain KHBBS.png It looks believable, but I'm not sure if we can use it until we have proof from other sources. It may just be an extremely well-drawn fan art, for all we know...great work though, Ninabean!

Hey there! I wrote to Tokyopop, and received this response as to the future translation and U.S. publication of the series:

Hi Jermanie,

We love Kingdom Hearts as much as you do, but the reason that we haven’t been publishing new books is that we no longer have the license. Furthermore, Square Enix and Disney have not told us their plans for the series. It’s possible that Yen Press will publish it, but your guess is as good as mine.

For all the fans out there, we, too, hope someone publishes it soon! But it will not be TOKYOPOP.

Best, Kasia

I have a strong feeling that "cover" is not the real thing. I don't even see GanGan anywhere on it and that's the publishing company for the Japanese mangas. Also, when I went looking on their (GanGan's) site I found a link to this: キングダムハーツ 358/2Days 1 (ガンガンコミックス) [コミック --- Lemony_strudel September 21, 2010

Actually I've seen that cover on OneManga before the site closed down, they got the chance to translate about... 5-8 chapters I think. 17master 15:16, September 21, 2010 (UTC)

But the actual manga for 358/2 days wasn't published until June earlier this year. See for yourself on the authors blog: http://amanosiro.weblogs.jp/ --Lemony Strudel 3:16, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

What the hell is going on? Where are the differences? There needs to be differences.
No, we need articles on each chapter, and this article covering the manga as a thing."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 22:33, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Really then why do other manga pages note the differences on the manga from the game.--The Dark Master 22:40, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

For the same reason they look like crap, pro'ly. This is what they should be, honestly, with wikipedia-like coverage for the main page. And this is where plot differences should be mentioned, if necessary."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 23:00, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Oh you are not amking sense. Why do other manga pages list the differences from the game but this page does not.--The Dark Master 23:05, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

He's saying that the other manga pages shouldn't look like that. Chitalian8 23:19, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Then why have they not been changed.--The Dark Master 23:20, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Because we're not magicians, and everything takes time and motivation. If it bothers you so much, you can change them yourself. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 23:23, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

I don't even know the volumes. All I am saying is that we should leace the differences on until we can make more individual chapter pages.--The Dark Master 23:26, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Just to bring this back up: We REALLY need to complete the articles on the manga. Can we wrangle up a project, or summat? Even a joint thing with the wikia would work at this point."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 15:26, 16 November 2011 (UTC)

Differences

this is more appropriate for the chapter articles The manga includes many changes from the game:

  • The manga includes a prologue which covers Sora and Kairi's first meeting.
  • There are no Keychains, and the only Keyblade Sora uses is the Kingdom Key.
  • Sora carries the Kingdom Key strapped to his back, rather than causing it to materialize when he needs it to fight.
  • In the manga, Sora is the one who finds Kairi, unlike in the video game, when he and Riku talk about the new girl that was at the mayor's house.
  • The story begins after Sora wakes up from his Awakening, and Tidus, Selphie, and Wakka are not shown.
  • The King's letter is written slightly different.
  • The night of the storm includes a scene at Riku's house.
  • Ansem, Seeker of Darkness's lines are slightly different.
  • Sora uses quotes from martial arts books to plan his boss strategies.
  • Sora's encounter with Leon and Yuffie is extended.
  • Aerith does not appear until Sora's second visit to Traverse Town.
  • Sora's meeting with the Dalmatians is not covered.
  • Rather than tossing the Keyblade back to Sora, Riku causes it to re-materialize in Sora's hands.
  • The destruction of Radiant Garden is covered with more detail, including a scene with Leon, Yuffie, and Aerith as children.
  • The order of worlds post Wonderland differs from the order in game. Instead of heading to either Olympus Coliseum or Deep Jungle (which is omitted), the group returns to Traverse Town. This variation continues with Agrabah, then Olympus Coliseum, and finally Monstro.
  • Aladdin uses his first wish to save Sora and his friends from a pit of quicksand, rather than to eliminate a swarm of Heartless. He uses his second wish to save Goofy, not Jasmine.
  • The Pot Centipede does not appear, and Maleficent takes Jasmine, rather than Riku.
  • Abu's vocal sounds are subtitled with actual lines.
  • Deep Jungle and Halloween Town do not appear in the manga, the former due to copyright laws.
  • In Atlantica, the Crystal Trident is never found or used.
  • In Atlantica, King Trident destroys all of the items in Ariel's Grotto.
  • The Lost Boys appear in Neverland.
  • Goofy finds the one Gummi Block they need in a Rock, Paper, Scissors fight with the Lost Boys.
  • Donald is the only character while in Neverland who cannot fly.
  • In Hollow Bastion, the group never fights Maleficent. Instead, she is overcome by darkness after Riku seals her heart with the Keyblade of People's Hearts.
  • Riku does not fight Sora after Sora reclaims the Keyblade from him in Hollow Bastion. After Donald Duck and Goofy defend him and Sora takes back the Keyblade, Riku sends out a wave of darkness to distract Sora and flees. After this, he meets Ansem.
  • Instead of Sora and his friends fighting Maleficent, she is consumed by her darkness and vanishes when Riku/Ansem unlocks her heart with the Keyblade of People's Hearts.
  • Sora and company stay in Hollow Bastion on their first visit as the place becomes overrun by Heartless, as opposed to fleeing and coming back later.
  • Sora does not fight Riku under Ansem's possession. After they meet before the Keyhole, Riku/Ansem tells Sora that the Keyhole cannot be sealed with Sora's Keyblade until Kairi's heart is freed, and he gives Sora the Keyblade of People's Hearts to release her heart.
  • Sora and company never fight the Behemoth in Hollow Bastion. Instead, Cid appears and destroys the beast.
  • Chernabog never appears.
  • Sora does not battle Ansem at the End of the World. After confronting him at the remnants of Destiny Islands, Ansem destroys the island and Sora and his friends fall into darkness, where Ansem reveals the World of Chaos ship. Sora, Donald and Goofy then rush to the Door to Darkness to try and close it, when the light from Kingdom Hearts beyond the door destroys Ansem.

Differences

This is the list of differences from the Days manga. These things are an eyesore, and the concept is completely asinine to begin with. If they can be at all used on character-plot sections (using the {{canon}} tagset), then please do; otherwise, the manga should be covered in chapter summaries, as started with "Kingdom Hearts Vol. 1/Calling"."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 22:08, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

Differences

  • Roxas cannot use Holo-Missions, or collect Challenge Sigils and Unity Crowns.
  • Roxas does not use all of his Keyblades from the game.
  • Roxas does not have HP.
  • Xigbar does not ask Roxas to win set amounts of points in Phil's Training.
  • Demyx does not give Roxas synthesis materials for doing his missions for him.
  • Xaldin does not give Roxas panels and synthesis materials for trying various synthesis recipes for him.
  • Xion does not give Roxas a Moonstone near the end of the game.
  • Roxas has more facial expressions than he did in the game.
  • Axel is the one who teaches Roxas to fight rather than Marluxia.
  • Xion reveals her face to Roxas before they leave for their mission on Day 25. In the game, she revealed her face just after they arrived in Twilight Town.
  • In Roxas's dream with Xemnas, he hears Sora's name the first time in the dream.
  • On the seventh day, before Roxas wakes up, three Dusks attempt to play a prank on him by sticking a clothes pin on his nose. Then, Axel comes in and stops them.
  • Zexion never goes on a mission with Roxas, he just introduces himself and gives Roxas some fish he made.
  • Sora, Donald, and Goofy make a brief physical appearance just as they're about to fight Marluxia in Castle Oblivion. This was never seen in the game since Sora and the others never make a physical appearance.
  • Xion is right-handed in the manga, whereas in the game, she is ambidextrous.
  • While Roxas is in a coma, the Dusks used oil paints to draw on his face, making him look like Xigbar and other faces. Xion is often left to clean up, and she finally gets fed up once the Dusks start using permanent ink.
  • Demyx visits Roxas during his coma with Xion, however he is dragged back to work.
  • When Xion defeats the Darkside in Twilight Town it releases a Heart even though it's a Pureblood Heartless.
  • When Xion and Axel first meet, Axel sees her face without the hood up from the beginning.
  • Roxas fights the Antlion with Xion and aid from Genie.
  • Genie never asks who Roxas and Xion are.
  • The Elixirs have expiration dates. Once this was shown when Axel said "This is past it's expiration date!"
  • Roxas already knew that Xion could wield the Keyblade, but in the game Roxas didn't find out until they defeated the Darkside.
  • Axel gets the winner stick when he is ordered to go to Castle Oblivion by Saix, in the game the one who get winner stick is only Roxas not Axel.

English Manga to Resume!

678MS.png I found out through KH13 that they are going to continue to dub the manga into English, but we will have to wait until November before it's finally accessible (Link). If the manga for KHII includes Port Royal and/or Space Paranoids, then there will be a 100% chance Pokémon Adventures will no longer be the only manga series I'll be collecting...

Draft

However, on March 2013, Yen Press (North America) announced that they have acquired the rights to Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 2, and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days series. The release dates are as followed:<ref>[http://www.khinsider.com/news/Yen-Press-to-Resume-Localization-of-KINGDOM-HEARTS-Manga-3262/ Yen Press to Resume Localization of Kingdom Hearts Manga]</ref>

*'''Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Volume 1 & 2''': May 28th, 2013
*'''Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories''': June 25th, 2013
*'''Kingdom Hearts II, Volume 1''': July 30th, 2013
*'''Kingdom Hearts II, Volume 2''': August 27th, 2013
*'''Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Volume 1''': November 19th, 2013

We need to confirm what content these actually contain (does FM have the special FM chapter, for example), and these should be detailed within the proper sections, rather than as a news-style announcement."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 07:24, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

Well, here's a site 1that reveals that the Kingdom Hearts Final Mix will have two chapters that have never been released in North America. This site 1 confirms that KHII Volume 6 will be released in Japan in May 2013. KingdomKing97 (talk) 20:16, 22 April 2013 (UTC)KingdomKing97

right, but the american kh1 series has four volumes, for example, and the final mix series has three, so obviously they're doing some sort of rearranging here. How they organized the chapters is what we need to figure out."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 20:50, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

They're releasing them in two volumes, how many chapters we will have to wait to know. It could be 21 - 22 chapters each, but that's just a guess. KingdomKing97 (talk) 06:40, 24 April 2013 (UTC)KingdomKing97

English covers

Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png So with the release of the manga in English, do you guys want to upload the new covers? If so, should they replace the Japanese covers, or be separate (What would the file name be if it's separate, because I'm still not clear on how that works)? Because I can get the cover images, I've seen them everywhere, I just don't know if you guys want it. Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png
Aren't they the same as the already existing English covers?"We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 18:21, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

Essentially, yes, except for the Japenese words all over the place, hence my asking, since this is an English wiki. Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.pngKeybladeSpyMaster Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png06:22, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
