No, No, No, No, NO!!!
This whole process, whenever we do it, always leads to complete and utter chaos, not to mention unnecessary Wiki-drama. To me, this Wiki does not receive enough IP/newbie activity for a bunch of inactive staff to be a problem, so long as at least two are actually still contributing! This Wiki, in comparison to The Keyhole, is dead in general (very little day-by-day activity from all users, etc.).
While I personally am against this whole thing, I would have to agree with Chitalian8. If anything, promote a user like The Inexistent or As if! to Moderator status. I would then promote one or two of the deserving users on our current list of Moderators to Administrator status so new Moderators can be added to the list.
If anything, lack of trusted regulars is the problem here, not inactive staff who don't edit 24/7. What I feel the Wiki needs is a group of trusted regulars who can watch it as often as possible for the occasional vandal or other issue while making good contributions, and then notify staff if a problem arises so that it may be properly dealt with. Staff in general are only truly needed when you have a site like The Keyhole, where "powers" such as deletion and the like are constantly needed to deal with the issues there (Staffers, ask yourselves this: "When was the last time you had to block a vandal or delete anything other than images here?"). I rest my case.
