Sorceror Nobody's Tips
These are all present elsewhere in the guide, but I've also gathered them all together here for convenience.
In the main menu, under Files, you'll find the Enemy Profiles. If you hold A while an enemy is highlighted, it shows the items it can drop. You'll notice there are six possibilities for each enemy. My suspicion is that the items dropped are determined by what your rank was at the time of the mission you are carrying out. In other words, until you reached Novice rank, every enemy dropped their first item. In every mission until the next rank upgrade you'll get the second item, but previous missions will still give you their first item because of what your rank was when those missions were issued! This might appear to be rather convoluted, but it's actually quite simple once you get your head round it. The following table summarises the rank boundaries:
Rank | Span | Item Drops | |
---|---|---|---|
N/A | Days 008 to 025 | Missions 01 to 14 | Item 1 |
Novice | Days 026 to 100 | Missions 15 to 35 | Item 2 |
Rookie | Days 117 to 171 | Missions 36 to 50 | Item 3 |
Agent | Days 172 to 224 | Missions 51 to 61 | Item 4 |
Expert | Days 225 to 280 | Missions 62 to 72 | Item 5 |
Master | Days 296 to 358 | Missions 73 to 93 | Item 6 |

If you discard items that you found in a chest, identifiable by being named in yellow in the backpack menu, it actually deducts from your opened chest total! Consequently, you shouldn't do the same idiotic thing I did, which was to accidentally discard it over the edge into the abyss, because then you can't retrieve it afterwards!

Moogle Shop
All of the tables are sortable, allowing you to find out what is available when, and also when any given item becomes available. You can also use the tabs to narrow down the lists to the individual subgroups.
Buy
This is a list of everything that you can buy from the Moogle Shop. The "currency" used for purchases is Heart Points.
Synthesize
This is a list of everything that you can synthesize at the Moogle Shop. All Item and Magic Panels can be synthesized repeatedly, whereas Ring Panels can only be synthesized if you don't already have one. The currency used for synthesis is Munny. Items and spells that require a recipe are added to the list as soon as you obtain at least one copy of the recipe.
Redeem
This is a list of everything that you can obtain at the Moogle Shop by collecting Challenge Sigils and Mission Crowns. The Redeem option is not unlocked until the first time you talk to Xomg from Day 71 onwards. You don't cash the Sigils/Crowns in to trade for the items; you just obtain the items when you have enough Sigils/Crowns. Not all rewards are available initially, so you have to wait until the rewards are unlocked to actually get them, even if you have the requisite number of Sigils/Crowns. Obviously, the number of available Sigils/Crowns is limited by the number of Unity Badges (Unity Badge) and Ordeal Badges/Blazons (Ordeal Badge/Blazon) you have, which in turn largely depends on what Day you have reached in Story Mode.
