Round 1, Week 3: Hollow Bastion v. Radiant Garden

Hollow Bastion KH.png
Versus2.png

Hollow Bastion KHII.png
WINNER!
Radiant Garden
11 to 5
I had long thought about this battle because they're technically the same place, but we're all divided between the twisted bastion and the restored version of it (think KHII). Alright, what say you ? Time Remaining:
It's All Over!

Votes for Hollow Bastion

  1. Whilst many show a preference for RG, I must say I'm going with HB. There's an aesthetic quality about the twisted castle which we could see in great detail, which we never could after KH and REC. TROISNYX Symbol - Bell.png AMDG 15:15, August 8, 2010 (UTC)
  2. I choose the KH version because this is the place where all the important events take place. Nothing really important happens here in KH2, only some predictable discoveries.User:Redeemer & Destroyer/Sig19:41, August 8, 2010 (UTC)
  3. Lift Stop. Good times. Pawprintorange.png Dan - Don't Blink! Pawprintblue2.png 21:22, August 8, 2010 (UTC)
  4. A simple town is nothing in comparison to a towering castle, filled with evil and heartless... </emo> KRCCFNF is tired of being STEPPED ON.
  5. Gee, a peaceful rebuilding town versus a menacing tower filled with endless hordes of Heartless completed with a waterfall that goes up not to mention the place where Sora became a Heartless. Easy choice. This Is The Heart In Its True Form File:Heartless hires.png 03:33, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

Votes for Radiant Garden

  1. Radiant Garden. The flowers, the waterfalls, the streets, they're all just beautiful. - Chitalian8 00:56, August 8, 2010
  2. I was actually surprised how much I liked HB in the original KH, but I still prefer the KHII version. Less confusing.LapisLazuliScarab01:02, August 8, 2010 (UTC)
  3. I'm looking forward to playing Radiant Garden in Birth by Sleep! - [Ѧüя◎ґ] 14:20, August 8, 2010
  4. Only because of Birth by Sleep. Epic music. Epic boss battles, amazing new characters, critical plot features for all three characters. - EternalNothingnessXIII 14:25, August 8, 2010 (UTC)
  5. I'm definitely voting for Radiant Garden. It is such a pretty world in BBS, much prettier than Hollow Bastion. - LevL 15:39, August 8, 2010 (UTC)
  6. Hollow Bastion just seems so...dull...this seems so much brighter and better. --stitchcharmsmall.pngAxel Lives On stitchcharmsmall.png 15:42, August 8, 2010 (UTC)

  9. The battles are better. HB only had the Riku fight fight going for it. Plus RG has two worlds within it.--Memorized
  10. Radiant Garden is so good in KH2 and BBS plus I HATE Hollow Bastion because it is to labyrinth-like.Danjam 14:13, August 9, 2010 (UTC)
  11. BBS showed just how interesting Radient Garden can be, and by the time of KHII, it's become an interesting mixture of the original beauty it posessed and the darkness which took over. The Heartless Manufactory is still there, as is the underground laboratory built by Ansem's apprentices. Clearly Radient Garden still has some secrets to divulge.--Samoth 08:42, August 12, 2010 (UTC)

I'm wondering why no one has commented here yet. Maybe I'll be the only commenter. Anyway, I very much want Hollow Bastion to win, although I'm pretty sure Radiant Garden will. This Is The Heart In Its True Form File:Heartless hires.png 03:42, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

Agreed. HB was intricately done, and it did leave me wondering how the pipes were done, how the entries and lift stops were so well planned. I don't want to do injustice to our voters here, but the only place where we do get that kind of intricacy in RG, if it's not the Cavern of Remembrance (don't even take that into account !) is the series of corridors in the lower level. What's more, we were even expecting HB to make a comeback given KHII's beta trailer, but it didn't, and the scene where OXIII appeared happened on ground level, and not in the castle proper. TROISNYX Symbol - Bell.png AMDG 06:32, August 9, 2010 (UTC)
I would love to be in HB during KHII. It fits so well! Such a pity how much great stuff in the beta trailers are taken out. Not that I don't like RG. I do like it, especially those little sparkly light things that fall from the sky. Anyway, I digress. The many traps and mazes in HB just can't be replaced by RG. Round 1, Week 2: Sanctuary v. Simple and Clean

When you walk away you don't hear me say that there's a new land where fears and lies melt away. Amazing songs... plus... they would make amazing Joint Struggle contestants. This fight was supposed to be done if the fights were fixed for the first round. WINNER!

Votes for Sanctuary

  1. Sanctuary after the battle - epic. Also, this is the first song from which I calqued (yes, calqued) a drumbeat. I'm going for this. TROISNYX Symbol - Bell.png AMDG 02:55, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

  8. The instrumentation on this one is just so well done. Not to mention the backwards lines and the lyrics (both versions). Very epic. BebopKate 17:33, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

  12. Just a matter of personal taste, and I like this one better. --JFH_Sig_zpsfaa1e7d5.jpg 06:51, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

Votes for Simple & Clean

  1. Well, what can I say? Simple and Clean makes for a hell of an intro; both the remix and original are great to listen to. Why do you think it was used for the intro of so many games? maggosh 03:03, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
  2. Far better instrumental. --DTN Room Core.png 17:09, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
  3. So difficult. Both songs are amazing, but I have to agree with DTN on this one. The instrumental version takes more time with the melody. Although I don't like the remix of this one. I don't know why. KRCCFNF is tired of being STEPPED ON.
  4. Simple and Clean. It was a tough choice, but I chose this for the same reasons as maggosh. Way to the Dawn KHII.png Light and dark File:Fresh Breeze KHBBS.png 00:14, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

The coding of this table needs to be fixed, raw code is everywhere and needs to be changed to a simple template with variables for the subjects in opposition. Also, if someone would figure out how to get those images/music players centered in their columns, that would be class. Thanks! --DTN Room Core.png 05:08, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

Workin' on it, Doorsey. KKDf51ce887-d120-4b89-8cff-afbff03976aa_zps7f114bcc.png

Okay, I saw the template. It's well done so far, except that the Listen template spans over four rows in the table. What if we centre-aligned those rows alone ? Maybe that'll help ? TROISNYX Symbol - Bell.png AMDG 02:29, August 2, 2010 (UTC)
Media template won't work in it, sorry. Also, when using the template, you absolutely have to use the SUBST: tag. --DTN Room Core.png 02:50, August 2, 2010 (UTC)
That we know - so now that leaves us with only one option : Copy the entire code of Listen and stuff it into the template if needed. Or not ? TROISNYX Symbol - Bell.png AMDG 03:12, August 2, 2010 (UTC)
The Media template works.. it just don't get on the center. The question is, will we use ugly but usefull un-centered Media Templates or we will use centered but pontless albun covers?User:Redeemer & Destroyer/Sig01:32, August 5, 2010 (UTC)

Is it possible to incorporate both ? TROISNYX Symbol - Bell.png AMDG 07:29, August 7, 2010 (UTC)

Media Templates with images? That's easy. But again... it won't stay in the center.User:Redeemer & Destroyer/Sig15:36, August 7, 2010 (UTC)

Votes for Sora

  1. Nuhu, Sora is the best and always will be.User:Redeemer & Destroyer/Sig01:59, July 11, 2010 (UTC)
  2. I have always faved Riku as a protagonist because of his storyline. But where Keyblade wielding is concerned, Sora was meant to be saved in the first Kingdom Hearts. Also, no one else pulls off the silly side better than he does. Sora gets my vote. TROISNYX Symbol - Bell.png AMDG 02:08, July 11, 2010 (UTC)
  3. Sora was a little grating early in the series, but he improved, and he took down nearly the entire Organization, plus Ansem and all the Disney and FF villains. Point, Sora.LapisLazuliScarab03:52, July 11, 2010 (UTC)
  4. Sora's always upbeat and optimistic, and manages to make everyone around him smile. And let's not forget that he's the only person that's managed to survive being turned into a Heartless. Without Sora, Xehanort would have destroyed the Universe ten times over, don't you think?

  5. Duel welding vs. dark powers...however, it all comes down to what the series is all about: heart. And Sora's got it in spades. BebopKate 20:25, July 11, 2010 (UTC)
  6. Sora is always optimistic, makes everyone smile, doesn't give in, and doesn't break promises. He's much stronger than Riku in body, mind, heart, and light in general. Sora never let the darkness control him, but Riku let it easily. Plus Sora's destined for great things, and Riku's just there backing him up. User:FuronXXXX/Sig 10:44, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

Keyblade Graveyard

The fight has changed a lot since its first release after Kingdom Hearts. I'm actually not surprised. TROISNYX Symbol - Bell.png AMDG 03:23, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

What do you mean by that, Trois? KKDf51ce887-d120-4b89-8cff-afbff03976aa_zps7f114bcc.png

Given the storyline additions, and how Nomura worked hard to clear Riku's name from post-Kingdom Hearts, I'm actually not surprised at what's gonna be the outcome. I admit that my choice was a difficult one. TROISNYX Symbol - Bell.png AMDG 03:30, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

Having all the KH game to analyse we indeed see that Riku got a lot of Good Boy Stars after the first Kingdom Hearts. And because of that Sora got a little to vanilla.User:Redeemer & Destroyer/Sig03:32, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

The key : always take the road less taken. ;-) They should also take time to see the beta trailer of KH1 before anything. TROISNYX Symbol - Bell.png AMDG 03:34, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

I just like Riku 'cause I can relate to him a lot more than Sora. KKDf51ce887-d120-4b89-8cff-afbff03976aa_zps7f114bcc.png
For me it is the other way around.User:Redeemer & Destroyer/Sig03:37, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

I saw the beta... Riku sure looked evil, more evil them Ansem Seeker of Darkness.User:Redeemer & Destroyer/Sig03:43, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

The beta is scary, eh ? But that's partly owing to the fact that all the renders were crude in the beta stage ; even Sora's and Kairi's. Donald and Goofy looked like they could fit into a DS more than a PS2. Also, it'd have been more natural if there were boxes in the road leading from the 2nd to the 3rd District, like in the beta. TROISNYX Symbol - Bell.png AMDG 09:40, July 11, 2010 (UTC)
Scary is not enough to describe Kairi's Exorcist face. Those eyes were looking inside my soul! An interesting note: the slogan is "You are the one who will open the door." and through the whole game Sora only closes things. Ironic.User:Redeemer & Destroyer/Sig16:48, July 11, 2010 (UTC)
How do you get to the beta? is there still some type of disc or downoad or what? User:Uther sablemane
It's the beta trailer. Not the beta version of the game.User:Redeemer & Destroyer/Sig20:15, July 11, 2010 (UTC)
The slogan still remains ; nevertheless, SoRiKa's faces were scary indeed. TROISNYX Symbol - Bell.png AMDG 00:07, July 12, 2010 (UTC)

Uum, voters for Sora? Could you please give less... well, large explanations? They're huge, and very misleading... we don't need a paragraph as to why you want Sora to win. Don't the rules ban that anyway? --VenCharm.pngLegoAlchemistVenCharm.png 00:03, July 13, 2010 (UTC)

After this batlle that rule shall be modified to the max of three line per vote.User:Redeemer & Destroyer/Sig00:07, July 13, 2010 (UTC)
How many lines you type isn't exactly easy to moderate. Just saying. Can't we just agree to give brief explanations, or none, and have your parograph in an edit summery? Saves space, if you ask me. --VenCharm.pngLegoAlchemistVenCharm.png 00:09, July 13, 2010 (UTC)
Indeed, controling the line isn't easy. A vote like Kate's is perfect. Explains the reason you voted in few words. We have the Graveyard especially for the comments.User:Redeemer & Destroyer/Sig00:14, July 13, 2010 (UTC)
