Other appearances[edit]
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep[edit]
Terra-Xehanort can perform Ars Solum during his boss battle. The speed of the finisher is greatly increased through the power of darkness but lands only three hits, and every strike except for the final one inflicts Stun on the target. The version used in the second fight in the Final Episode has Terra-Xehanort start the combo without readying himself. The power on either version is inferior to that of Terra.
Kingdom Hearts III[edit]
Terra-Xehanort can perform Ars Solum in his boss battle. This version consists of seven hits, with the sixth hit breaking guards. He can stop the attack if the fourth hit misses.
Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind[edit]
Terra-Xehanort's data can perform two variations of Ars Solum. The first variant, a 12-hit combo, has him teleporting and performing the first three blows before teleporting again to perform the first three blows. Then after the second teleport, he performs the first three blows and two more blows before teleporting for the finishing blow. Whenever he teleports, his Keyblade glows red from the power of darkness and the first slash of the attack is unblockable. The second variation starts with him charging up and coating himself in a red aura of darkness. Then he teleports and performs the first three slashes, teleports and performs two slashes, teleports and performs a single slash and then performs the teleporting finisher twice. Then he charges up and coats himself in a red aura of darkness again, teleports and performs the first three blows, and teleports and performs three blows before teleporting for the last finisher. Each swing except the second to last is unblockable.
Etymology[edit]
The ability's Japanese name, "Solo Arcanum", translates to "Only Secret" in Latin. Its English name is a pun on the Japanese name and "Ars Arcanum" (Latin for "Secret Technique"). As such, it is meant to mean "First Technique". "Solum" can also be read as "ground" or "earth" in Latin, playing on Terra's own name; as such, "Ars Solum" can be read as "Earth Technique".
