I might've mentioned this somewhere else before, but I need someone to confirm this. Everglow's video with him against Sephiroth on Proud Mode in 1.5 ReMIX pretty much says that the invincibility durations for all the Limits/Special Abilities have changed, leaving Strike Raid to be the only reliable Limit against him. Not sure if this applies to the original first Final Mix as well. --[[User:SneaselSawashiro|SneaselSawashiro]] ([[User talk:SneaselSawashiro|talk]]) 20:35, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

Omnislash?

This is a little bit weird... But what is the exact source of Sephiroth's combos in KH2 being titled "Omnislash?" Several pieces of evidence seem to suggest it's actually the Octaslash... First and foremost, the actual combo phase and swipes themselves are an exact Octaslash replica. As in same position, same directional hits, same number of hits (8). Then there's Omnislash itself... Omnislash isn't so much a combo attack as it is the user bum-rushing the enemy from virtually every direction, sword-point first. I don't wanna edit anything up....but the attack Sephiroth uses is not an Omnislash... So, if possible, I'd like a nice verifiable source on this.

TALK -
Honestly, when I first attacked the kana for the KH2 section, it was all BS. Whoever tried to translate it didn't know a lick of Japanese, and I'm not sure what the source of the kana is, either. I actually propose we axe the section and start from the ground up. If anyone has an Ultimania, though, that would list all the attacks.

I completely agree. ...You do it. XD If I do, some n00bot is gonna try to kill me.

They actually call "Meteor" "Ryusei"...obviously made up.—Urutapu 06:50, December 29, 2009 (UTC)

Except that when KH2 was made, Neutra, Omnislash didn't exist yet. KH2 was released almost two full years in Japan before Crisis Core. As for Omnislash, I got the names from walkthroughs, but if anyone has official strategy guides that name the attacks, that's great.

EDIT - as a note, I've seen the KH1 Seph's attack called "Omnislash", and someone else here mentioned reading the KH2 ones are just called "Cut Combo". Dunno if that's true or not but I doubt it.

I added the English names, someone else added the Japanese ones.

I see. In that case, I'm gonna have to remove the names and just replace it with something generic. Random walkthroughs are not, repeat NOT verifiable sources, nor is talk. Until Kryten snags Ultimania scans or something, it'll stay that way.

Fine with me, I added them when reworking the strategy sections just for the sake of calling them something.

Heartless Angel

Before I start editing, can someone please tell me if using Stop magic on Sephiroth will stop Heartless Angel? (Bananaphone1996 03:12, April 14, 2010 (UTC))

Don't add it if you haven't seen it work. I've never tried it, myself. --Neumannz 03:21, April 14, 2010 (UTC)
It shouldn't work. Most bosses should be immune to stop magic in general. --SneaselSawashiro (talk) 00:31, 12 February 2015 (UTC)

Is it just me or...

Does Sephiroth's entrance in the platinum match really look like Sora's Trinity limit on the ground.(Bananaphone1996 21:32, May 21, 2010 (UTC))

It's you.--NumberXV 17:44, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

Attack Name

First, not sure who renamed his KH2 attacks with the Dissidia attack names, but its a bit random. Secondly, whoever did it did a really bad job of it because the strategy section still uses the original names. Doreiku Kuroofangu 04:48, May 26, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, Dissidia is a different game entirely than Kingdom Hearts, so it probably should not be used as a source for the attack names.LapisLazuliScarab23:40, June 6, 2010 (UTC)

Also, still irritates me how "Octaslash" is used for the KH2 name. Crisis Core, where the attack is first named, did not come out until almost two years after KH2. Doreiku Kuroofangu 18:55, June 7, 2010 (UTC)

Sephiroth's moves

thumb|500px|right|Sephiroth's Dissidia moves. Just wanted to show this to see if it's any help as a few moves here are similar to kingdom hearts moves.

That's nice. And irrelevant. Dissidia =/= Kingdom Hearts. Doreiku Kuroofangu 18:51, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
Bump since this seems to be forgotten. Seriously, every time I visit this page it seems the attack names have been changed around completely. Doreiku Kuroofangu 05:57, November 11, 2010 (UTC)
I know what you mean. How people can confuse Dissidia with KH is beyond me. maggosh 17:37, December 23, 2010 (UTC)
Never underestimate the stupidity of anon users. For that matter, not to name anyone here since I don't come around here much anymore, never underestimate the stupidity of registered users either. DoreikuKuroofangu - Visit the Soul Shrine! 17:40, December 23, 2010 (UTC)

Descend Heartless Angel VS Sin Harvest

DaysXemnas.png

Interdiction KHD.png An unregistered contributor says that the Kingdom Hearts Official Strategy Guide by BradyGames lists the name of his attack as "Sin Harvest". He very clearly says "Descend, Heartless Angel" to me, and "Heartless Angel" is a recurring attack of his in the Final Fantasy series. Can someone who has the guide confirm that it says that? In addition, I know the guides have been incorrect before (for example, my Brady Games guide for Days lists Lexaeus' Terrene weapon as "Terrence", despite it being clearly spelled as "Terrene" in-game).

TALK - "No one would miss me..."
Yes, I have the BradyGames Stategy Guide and the exact line is: After taunting you, he teleports away and casts a spell (you'll hear him say "Sin Harvest"). It is an inaccuracy in the guide because in both KH1 and 2, he says "Descend Heartless Angel". He just says it slowly and more clearly in KH2.

What's with the Numbers?

Honestly, I don't know where the 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 in the infobox came from. Anyone know?--NumberXV 17:45, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

A running slash move

http://youtu.be/yyTEqkuZYzw?t=3m33s Sephiroth appears to have this unlisted running slash move only for his final phase in KH2 (MAYBE all versions, not sure just yet). --SneaselSawashiro (talk) 04:10, 11 February 2015 (UTC)

Page rewrite

Okay, so this page and Game:Eraqus are the prime examples of what I've wanted to do with the boss pages. Hopefully, it condenses the kind of interwoven strategies we've been having to more concrete, organized information on dealing with specific attacks, and explains why certain abilities or equipment are advised for fighting a boss, removing redundancy and fluff while also vastly reducing the space needed and retaining all pertinent information.

To ensure I didn't miss anything, can others please go through the two previous states of the page (here and here), and notify me of anything that wasn't properly integrated in the new format of the page?"We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 22:40, 21 March 2016 (UTC)

Kousoku =/= Rapid

Okay, then what should you propose then? The KH2 section bothered to have literal translations there. Is there an exception or something?

  1. Rapid is absolutely a valid translation of Kousoku, and is in plentiful use as a translation of same, as the weblio link demonstrated.
  2. The KH1 section is already the literal translations of the ultimania, which I went in and transcribed. There's no point to adding additional "lit", as it's already supposed to be lit. The KH2 section has "lit" because the primary names are the official english names from the Bradygames guide, so we provide "lit" where those are inaccurate.
  3. Additionally, a lot of the blocking/guarding notes you've been re-adding are already in the table in a separate column, so it's completely redundant to add them back in. The whole point of using these new templates is to rely on the official material that every fan can be expected to be familiar with, rather than relying on personal names for mechanics that do not come from the actual material."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 14:31, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
I'm still not buying it. But since you're refusing to really change that translation to something more literal (I've seen 疾 and 急速 be used Rapid; and I'm guessing "Rapid Expressway"?), I might as well just give up then. I personally tend to translate things more literally and more apart from other terms, just so you know, and I mainly use tangorin for that. I mainly exclude pure metaphors that are already distinct on their own. --SneaselSawashiro (talk) 18:18, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
Plus, while I understand that as usual I'm fluffing up shit (bring in sake neko from Koei Wiki so he can bash me further), I'm not trying to alter the original Rapid Mow Down text by simply adding in my own translation (aside from the bs with the KH2 moves). Plus, all because kousoku means rapid (via rapid rail-transit, that I get), but 高速ネットワーク can also mean "rapid network"? Really? --SneaselSawashiro (talk) 18:37, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
...rapid is exactly as literal as "high-speed". They mean the same thing. That other words can also be translated as "rapid" is completely irrelevant -- that's kind of a natural fact of being a language. "Rapid" is more preferred here because it rolls of the tongue and is a short word, making it sit nicer together next to "Step"."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 12:57, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

Invincibility changes?

I might've mentioned this somewhere else before, but I need someone to confirm this. Everglow's video with him against Sephiroth on Proud Mode in 1.5 ReMIX pretty much says that the invincibility durations for all the Limits/Special Abilities have changed, leaving Strike Raid to be the only reliable Limit against him. Not sure if this applies to the original first Final Mix as well. --SneaselSawashiro (talk) 20:35, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
