Defense Boost (ガードアップ, Gādo Appu, lit. "Guard Up") is an ability introduced in Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. It increases the user's defense. It can be multi-installed to increase its effects.

Mechanics

In Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, Defense Boost is an accessory ability that increases the user's Defense when their HP is reduced to 25%.

In Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Defense Boost is a stats ability that can be equipped up to three times. It raises the user's defense by 1 for each Attack Boost equipped.

In Kingdom Hearts Union χ, Defense Boost P is a special attack that targets a single enemy. It costs 2 special attack gauges to perform.
Defense Boost S (Sプロテクトアップ, S Purotekuto Appu, lit. "S Protect Up") is a special attack that targets a single enemy. It costs 2 special attack gauges to perform. It raises Player's Speed-based defense by 1 tier for 1 turn.
