Hey. I got some issues with sorting tables on here. When sorting the left table, it puts x0.5 before x0.15. I'm guessing it's because of the different number of decimals. Is there a way to fix that, or should I change it to x0.50 for it to sort properly? :That sorting algorithm is baked into MediaWiki, so it would be best just to add the extra 0. The color should be fixed after a cache update. --Porplemontage (talk) 19:24, 6 August 2022 (UTC) |

Search options
Hey my dude, how hard would it be to make this possible to use in the wiki's search functionality? Thanks! --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 15:59, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- Hey there. That search feature requires installing a whole different search engine, there is a lot to that. Sometimes I use Special:ReplaceText (currently disabled) to do a complex search and get a list of pages, with or without actually replacing anything. Here is the result of a tabbertab search - it can only do 250 at a time so when those are done I can run it again and get the next 250! --Porplemontage (talk) 20:18, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Hello! I'm Joe, we didn't really talk before lol. Anyway, I've recently been updating the wiki's theme and other little doodads. That includes updating a few things on the sidebar menus, including the fonts. In addition to no longer looking pixelated, they now have these nifty little icons. However, as a result on the slightly larger resolution, it appears they've getting cutoff. I'm told this is a CSS issue, and I don't have the necessary permission to tweak those particular nav templates. Do you think you can make them whole image appear correctly over the sidebars? If it can't be done, I can make them smaller and simpler, but....it'd be really nice if it can be done. :) Bold text
- Hi, just do CTRL+F5 and it should work. Nice job! --Porplemontage (talk) 21:49, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
- Looks great you guys! Thanks!! Chainoffire 22:01, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
ANOTHER question...
I'm a real pest today. :P Lol, anyway super simple question: [Is something like this doable?] If it is, tell me how to prepare the assets and I'll get on it. --Samoa Joe (talk) 22:13, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
- Sure, if you can just get me those corner images with a transparent background then I'll make the change. --Porplemontage (talk) 22:19, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
Ok, [here is the proper stuff]. You'll probably need to reposition the text a bit so it falls in the middle, but all said and done....it should be quite cool. :3 --Samoa Joe (talk) 22:36, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
- I think all it really needs is a more "repeat-friendly" background if you want to re-upload that, it can be any size. --Porplemontage (talk) 23:55, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
- You are ridiculous lol. And totally awesome! Anyway, sure. :) Let me fixer up the background. --Samoa Joe (talk) 23:58, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
- Alright, should be much better now. At least on my monitor. --Samoa Joe (talk) 00:03, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
- Perfect, looks great! --Porplemontage (talk) 00:05, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
Main page
Hey, sorry about the main page looking a little different than intended. Me and KSM were in the middle of trying out something new when he had to get off. Longer short of it, we're trying to apply the Gummiphone background for the main page boxes below the game portal, starting with the Quote of the Moment. [This backdrop specifically]. It's why the icons were changed - the idea is to emulate the gummiphone and X tres menu. [From his experiment], it turned out quite good! Do you think you can apply it while retaining the rounded edges and shadow effect? Now admittedly, the backdrop is temporary - Shard will extract the full res version and I'll just reupload it, but until then this will work. --Samoa Joe (talk) 01:36, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
- Ok, if you hard refresh you should see it. You can just re-upload File:Main-boxbg.png --Porplemontage (talk) 01:51, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks! What do you think? Looks better now, with a more consistent theme? --Samoa Joe (talk) 02:01, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
- Yeah, very nice! --Porplemontage (talk) 02:10, 24 March 2020 (UTC)

Oof, thanks for that! It loaded quickly for me, even on mobile, but I totally forgot to consider other people's network woes. XP Thanks for catching it and correcting it! --Samoa Joe (talk) 03:50, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
- Happy to help! --Porplemontage (talk) 03:51, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
Thumbnails not displaying properly
God I hope this wasn't me lol, but I may have broken our wiki. :| I uploaded two files - nothing special, just the command deck windows for Dream Drop Distance HD and Re:coded. But when I added them to their respective pages, I noticed that all the thumbnails no longer display transparencies correctly! They have white backgrounds, instead of the grey thumbnail gradients they're supposed to. Before I uploaded and added the images, everything looked fine though. I have no idea how this happened....but it did! Sorry if it was me! --Samoa Joe (talk) 04:04, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
- No worries; I fix --Porplemontage (talk) 08:12, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
Site logo question
So...heads up, I'm totally being a little bit vain asking this, so you're completely in the right to tell me to piss off. XD But, you know the site/wiki rotates the logo between three images? Any possibility to increase that to....say five? --Samoa Joe (talk) 04:06, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
- Fine by me but it's ultimately up to the admins if they want to keep these changes. --Porplemontage (talk) 04:47, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
Introduction
Hi I have seen you around the wiki a lot and wanted to say hello formally. MysteriousWonderer 17:51, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

Text scroll
I first want to say the scrolling text looks absolutely fantastic. I have one question, though. Is it possible to customize how long it takes for the text to loop for each individual image? If you look at the bottom one on the userspace page I made, you can see it takes a while for it to show up again. TheSilentHero 13:15, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks! Using your initial template to work from helped a lot. Now they will all repeat a moment after each loop. --Porplemontage (talk) 14:06, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
Hi, it's been a while
Hi porple, I figured enough time has passed for me to type you something. I'll do here on Kingdom Hearts Wiki as it's one of the lowest activity wiki that you're on (as well as not on NIWA) & it would have been better if this weren't public, but anyway. I'm not seeking anything in return & you don't have to feel obligated to say anything to me. About a year and a half ago I did a very stupid thing on Smash Wiki because I was not in a good spot at the time & have had big issues that I needed to work out throughout my life (lot of mental and anger issues). Since April 2020, I've changed a lot & wikis that I run have grown a lot, but am still the same gamer at heart. SpongeBob Wiki is now a Grifkuba wiki, which I planned for it to be from the start. Wiki of Mana, which I launched in late August this year, was an extension of Triforce Wiki & Final Fantasy Wiki -- I intended it to be a me & Grifkuba thing, but there's still hard feeling between me and SEIWA I never sold out -- I just wanted what was best for Mario fans & have sometimes gone too far by getting into fights with others to try and put Mario, Banjo, Conker, Rare, and Grabbed by the Ghoulies fans first. Yesterday was 19 years since Rare moved to Nintendo (perhaps that would've been better timing in posting this message).
Even though we've gone our separate ways (I still edit Mario Wiki & want to keep it epic), esp because you have to put your communities' interests first, I hope you'll remember the good moments we've shared, like how I've ensured that the DK Wiki was a success, how I took the burden of The Legend of Zelda (which changed the course of my wiki career forever & I think corrupted me a bit because I have & still want to specialize in western gaming franchise wikis, esp platformers, and broke the wiki pledge), and how much I've worked with tacopill and others to expand Grifkuba Gaming Services into what it is today. Final Fantasy Wiki has a few affiliates now because of my coordination and the awareness that I've spread -- and over 560 articles. No matter how big our disagreements or how much we're divided, I'll always see you as my Wiki Daddy. Thank you for hosting epic wikis, such as Mario Wiki and this wiki, as I don't know what I would've been if it weren't for you founding Mario Wiki and hosting wikis such as KH Wiki, from which FF Wiki is based on. Limp Bizkit (talk) 14:59, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hi there. It's not like I'm holding a grudge or anything, but simply put, I want to avoid controversy and focus on supporting the wikis I host. No need to thank me for hosting, it's my pleasure. See you on recent changes! --Porplemontage (talk) 19:13, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- It's ok, that's why I mentioned "going our separate ways" and how a host needs to act in their best interests of all of their communities (big six), even if there's large cultural differences. I'm very happy to know that you don't have a grudge toward me. Despite often reusing stuff from Mario Wiki, I never wanted to rip off your brand, and looks like others can distinguish porple wikis from RMV wikis despite the similarities (though mainly for Mario Wiki). I made sure to keep the message minimal because this is public & can be read by anyone, yet still get the message across. You have a separate community on each wiki you host whereas with me & Gaming Wiki Network it's me trying to link exchange wikis that me & friends run. I finally found what my ultimate goal has been -- a loose link exchange of wikis in the style of Mario Wiki (and KH Wiki for FF Wiki). Limp Bizkit (talk) 20:29, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
one thing i remember
I remember when I was like "i want u to give me a wiki bailout with zelda, banjo, nintendo, with porplemontage recipe" and you were like "i can't always bail you out of your problems -- you need to learn to face them on your own and work hard on creating your own brand". How much I've grown -- I've become an official Wiki Daddy now. All grown up -- teen angst almost entirely gone. Limp Bizkit (talk) 14:07, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
- time flies. i've reached my wiki limit & there are some mario gamers who want rmv bailout now, and I'm trying to teach them how to make their own brand Limp Bizkit (talk) 14:13, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
Talk page links
Hey, Porple. Didn't the discussion tab at the top of the page used to have red text when the talk page didn't exist? Because now it looks identical to when a talk page does exist, and it's kinda annoying. TheSilentHero 14:41, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
- Oh sorry, I'll fix that. --Porplemontage (talk) 14:42, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
