Omniflash in Re:Chain of Memories.

Omnislash (超究武神覇斬 Chōkyū Bushinhazan?, lit. "Super-ultimate Warrior God's Mastery Slash") is a technique introduced in Kingdom Hearts, and is one of Cloud's signature attacks. It allows the user to deal many powerful slashes to one or more enemies, sometimes flying between them to ensure accuracy.

Mechanics

In Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Omnislash is a Summon Sleight. It summons Cloud to the battlefield, whereupon he flies across the field, periodically slashing at enemies. In Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, additional attacks are added by pressing Triangle when prompted. Pressing Triangle at the wrong time will cancel the sleight. Its card combination is:

Cloud (card).png + Cloud (card).png + Cloud (card).png

In Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, Omnislash is a special ability used by Cloud in the Labyrinth. Cloud will warp in front of an enemy and slash it four times, randomly switching to another enemy. The last slash follows with two finishing strikes on the same enemy.

In Kingdom Hearts Union χ, Omnislash is a special attack that targets all enemies. It costs 2 special attack gauges to perform. It raises the player's Power-based strength by 3 tiers for 1 turn. It lowers the targets' Power-based defense by 3 tiers for 1 turn. It inflicts more damage the higher the player's HP.

  • Cloud may randomly use Omnislash in place of an attack following a successful button A press, while in the Labyrinth.

Other appearances

Kingdom Hearts

Cloud uses Omnislash while fighting Sora. He will first generate an aura of red electricity around himself while spreading his wing, and then will float into the air and glide across the arena, attempting to slash at Sora three times, before returning to normal.

Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories

Cloud uses Omnislash while fighting Sora. In Chain of Memories, each charge has more of a pronounced swoop than in other versions, while in Re:Chain of Memories, Cloud glides as normal, but at increased speed. The card combination is:

Cloud - A2 (card).png + Cloud - A2 (card).png + Cloud - A2 (card).png

Kingdom Hearts Re:coded

Cloud uses Omnislash while fighting Sora and Hercules. It is identical to the version he uses as a party member, but adds more slashes at a faster pace like in the recent portrayals of the attack in other forms of media while ending with the signature flipping overhead slash. Template:Section-stub

Origin

Omnislash is the signature attack of Cloud Strife, and his strongest Limit Break in Final Fantasy VII. In most forms of recent media such as the Dissidia games and in Kingdom Hearts II, the technique often involves a series of many rapid-frenzy slashes mid-flight ending with a downward slamming strike; this isn't the case for its appearances in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories and its remake, where only three slashes are done in a slow succession.
