Synopsis[edit]
The group deduces that the only villain in their world who would ever attack the castle is Pete. Queen Minnie isn't so sure, recalling his previous banishment. Donald argues otherwise, informing her of Pete's alliance with the Heartless and powers of darkness. Suddenly, Maleficent appears, revealing her interest in the castle. She laughs, claiming the cornerstone of light will soon lose its power, allowing her to conquer the castle. As she leaves, Maleficent states that the only way to remove this deep darkness is by destroying the cornerstone of light or traveling back in time. After she leaves, the trio resolves to travel back in time to eradicate the dark seeds. Seeking advice from Merlin, the trio heads to Hollow Bastion. After informing Merlin of the castle's plight, he agrees to help, transporting them back to the hall of the cornerstone. Merlin summons a door, claiming it to be a gateway to a special world. Before the group leaves, Merlin orders them to not meddle in the world's resident's affairs, and to seal a similar looking door in that world. Promising to these terms, the trio opens the door.
Stepping through the door, the trio find themselves in a "much simpler time;" timeless, even. Eventually the trio finds Timeless River's cornerstone of light. They opt to stay here in hopes of catching the bad guy when he comes after it. To their surprise, the first person to approach them is a different version of Pete. The group attacks him, despite Pete's claims of ignorance. After the scuffle, Pete claims that the trio must be the thieves who stole his boat. Sora argues otherwise, and apologizes to Pete for the false accusations. Then, Pete notices his steamboat in the distance, going down the river. In order to prove their sincerity, Pete tasks the trio with retrieving his stolen boat.
The trio successfully boards the steamboat, discovering its captain to be the present-time Pete. Pete refuses to give up the boat, and kicks the trio into the river.
