Foreteller

Template:Enemy The Foretellers are Keyblade Masters that appears in Kingdom Hearts χ. Each of the five Unions is led by a Foreteller. These enigmatic Keyblade wielders protect the worlds from the darkness.

Story

Before Kingdom Hearts χ

According to Chirithy, the five Foretellers (and one other Keyblade wielder) were the apprentices of his creator. They each received a tome from the Book of Prophecies and learned of the event that would doom the world. In an attempt to avert this crisis, the Foretellers established Unions to battle the Heartless.

Kingdom Hearts χ

Shortly after arriving in Daybreak Town, the Player is attacked by a Darkside. The Foreteller of their chosen Union comes to the rescue alongside Chirithy, and pursues the Darkside when it escapes through a corridor of darkness.

After the player masters the power of the Keyblade with help from Chirithy and a Moogle, the Foreteller reappears and explains the need to defeat Heartless and collect the light. Before leaving once again, the Foreteller tells the player to be wary of those who hoard the light out of greed, for they are truly seekers of darkness.

It is eventually revealed that there is traitor among the Foretellers.

Appearance

Each Foreteller wears a mask representing the animal that serves as the emblem of his or her Union. Underneath is a hooded, embroidered cloak from which tassels hang around the front. The Foretellers wear shirts beneath their robes that are fastened by a sash and feature long, embroidered sleeves that extend slightly beyond their wrists. Each is named after the Latin name for one of the seven deadly sins, with most of them using the name that matches their animal motif according to the Ancrene Wisse.

Abilties

Each Foreteller is a Keyblade Master, and wields a personal Keyblade. Each Keyblade's motif has a unique elemental and chromatic theme, and includes an etching of the Union's totem animal on its hilt, an eye of darkness on its keychain token, a heart icon similar to Terra's Mark near the blade's teeth, and a handle resembling a Doric column; these shared traits are similar to the details of Master Xehanort's Keyblade, which has a black, demonic theme and an etching of a horned lion, but has a second eye of darkness where the Foretellers' Keyblades have heart icons.
