Mechanics

As Sora or Riku progresses through the game, the Drop Gauge, located on the lower-right of the screen, will eventually deplete over time. The Gauge has three bars, a blue, a green, and a magenta bar. When the blue bar runs out it becomes the green one. When the green bar runs out, it becomes the magenta one. When only a small amount of the magenta bar is left, the Gauge pulses with an aura. Once the Drop Gauge is empty, it will count down with a high-pitched tone, warning the player that it is almost time to switch. How fast the countdown is completed varies with how many Droplets you have. Droplets can be earned by defeating Dream Eaters or by doing other activities. Droplets can also be used to get bonuses. When the countdown is finished, Sora or Riku will float in place. The screen will go to a menu where you can pick a bonus for whoever is being played next. Bonuses include, temporary boosts in attack strength, new abilities, items, or a loss of speed at which the Gauge dissipates. The Drop Gauge can also be affected negatively by a Status Effect. Status Effects increase the speed of how the Gauge decreases, meaning Sora or Riku will drop faster.
