Cloud is a challenging boss, fought in a similar way to Leon in the First District of Traverse Town. While defeating him isn't essential to moving the storyline along, it is helpful, and gives you some much neeeded experience for the upcoming fight with Hades' devilish pet Cerberus. In this fight, equip the most effective Keyblade available (The Jungle King, unless you hacked). A simple strategy is to time his attacks, and get in a lucky combo after a sequence of rushes. He is most vulnerable here, or after driving his sword into the ground. Beware his counterattack, however. It is a good idea to equip lots of Potions and Hi-Potions. Don't worry about Donald and Goofy. They are a convinience here. Goofy does some damage, and Donald can be a useful healer. Basically, slug away when you can, maybe shoot the occasional fireball. | |||

The Preliminary Tournament is the entry tournament at Olympus Coliseum in Kingdom Hearts. The tournament is interrupted by an attack from Cerberus. After Sora defeats Cerberus and rescues the Coliseum, Phil gives him a Hero License, allowing him to participate in future games.
Story
Kingdom Hearts
After receiving the pass to enter the tournament from Hades, Sora began to move up the seeds until he had to face Cloud. When they fought, Cloud was either defeated, or he couldn't deliver the final blow to Sora, Donald, and Goofy. When Hades sees this, he interferes, sending in Cerberus to kill them all, ending the tournament. Template:Section-stub
