In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Item Synthesis does not occur. Intead, a new method known as Command Charge is used.
In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, the Command Charge system replaces the traditional Item Synthesis. Command Charge allows the character to create new Commands by combining two previously obtained commands; the resulting Command will differ based on the types and level of the ingredient Commands. Furthermore, synthesis materials, such as the Time or Rolling Crystal, can be added to the mix. This does not affect the resulting Command, but instead attaches a certain Support Ability to the Command, depending on the material and the final Command. Like in Final Fantasy games, this ability will be equipped with the Command, and will level up as long as the character gains experience<!--which kind, again?-->. Once the Support Ability gains maximum experience, it will be moved the character's permanent Abilities list, allowing them to use it no matter what commands they equip.
In Command Charge, the player can mix two Commands to form one new Command. Like in Item synthesis, the player can also add materials, namely crystals, to add effects. By adding a certain crystal such as the Rolling Crystal with a certain Command, the resulting Command will possess a Support Ability, such as halving its cool-down time or increasing damage.

Examples
For example, mixing a Lvl 1 Fire Blitz and a Lvl 1 Aero will produce Aerial Slam. If a Bright Crystal is added to the mixture, the Aerial Slam will have an attached HP Up ability.
An example of Command Charge's effects would be the mixing of Fire Blitz and Aero to get Aerial Slam. The addition of a Moisture Crystal to Fire Blitz and Aero would instead result in an HP UP.

Improve it by adding what you know about the following issues.

Like in Final Fantasy games, this ability will be equipped with the Command, and will level up as long as the character gains experience. Once the Support Ability gains maximum experience, it will be moved the character's permanent Abilities list, allowing them to use it no matter what commands they equip.

For example, mixing a Lvl 1 Fire Blitz and a Lvl 1 Aero will produce Aerial Slam. If a Bright Crystal is added to the mixture, the Aerial Slam will have an attached HP Up ability.
