Description
When HP reaches zero, Sora will be knocked away and the screen will turn black showing Sora floating with his heart above him. The same animation occurs in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. In Kingdom Hearts II if the player fails to complete an objective, such as letting Minnie Mouse be defeated or failing to defeat Demyx's clones in time, the player will be brought to a game over screen showing Sora standing up with his arms crossed and a defeated look on his face. During Roxas's prologue in Kingdom Hearts II and in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, a heart does not float over Roxas when he is defeated, as he is a Nobody and does not possess a heart. In the Mission Mode, each character has their own special expression or gesture if they fail or withdraw from a mission.
