| Please consider all of these points in selecting your nominees. The ideal nominee would display all of these traits to the fullest, but even the best of users will probably not fulfill this perfectly. Select the user(s) who best display these qualities; we do not expect perfection. Once a fair majority comes about, we can decide on the method of selecting two new moderators from there. Also everyone, remember that this is just nominating very helpful users on a website to receive a little rollback tool. This forum topic shouldn't even need a "Discussion" section until we have reached a majority; there is no need to explain who you voted for or why. By doing so you will essentially by influencing the nominations negatively. This is nothing incredibly, heart-stoppingly important that should cause conflicts between users or take attention away from the growth of the wiki, and other important topics. Alright, so it has been decided that we do want to induct two (2) new moderators. The next step in the process is for the community to select six (6) candidates from Special:Top/community. You may nominate one, two, three, four, five, or six users for the position of moderator. Please leave your nominations in an organized manner, preferably in the same format for all sets of nominations. Number-bullets work great for this, as do sub-sections containing the nominations.
Remember, nominating a user for the position of moderator means you could be moving them closer to one day being an administrator. Select your nominations based on the work that they have done, not how friendly they are, how well-versed they are on the latest YGOTAS episode, or how often you socialize on the IRC. Basically, select your nominations based on the quality of work they do for the wiki. It is critically important that you use the CHECKKR method below in evaluating your potential nominees:
- Character: The nominee should be a good example of the behavior standards expected at the Kingdom Hearts Wiki. The nominee should be polite, have good interpersonal skills, not complain constantly, not talk negatively or down to other users, both public and semi-hidden (edit summaries, IRC, etc.), and react appropriately to situations on the wiki. The user's behavior needs to positively represent the Kingdom Hearts Wiki's staff in everything the user does.
- Helping out and attitude: A nominee should not be argumentative and complain constantly about the wiki, especially publically. "Pluses" would be helping out and welcoming new users, and contributing to a discussion in a non-aggressive manner. In addition, the nominee should often contribute to relevant and important discussions.
- Edit demographic: Select someone who concentrates their time on the most featured aspects of the wiki: mainspace, filespace, templatespace (to an extent), and TWTNW forums.
- Confidence: The nominee should not be unsure of what they are doing; they should know when to create a forum for an issue, or when to simply address it on a user's talk page.
- Knowledge of policy: A moderator needs to be familiar with our policy, both that listed in the Manual of Style and behavior/disciplinary policy.
- Knowledge of coding: An important trait for a moderator to have is a knowledge of coding. The nominee should know how to modify existing templates, modify their own talk template, and know basic insert codes for font types, colored text, images, videos, and the like. Anything extra is great as well, as coding experts are invaluable.
- Reliability and experience: Select a user who has been active on the Kingdom Hearts Wiki for a long period of time and has consistantly edited. A relatively new editor or an editor that visits the wiki once every solar eclipse is not going to be a reliable moderator. An editor who has experience with working in a group or on other wikis would be an excellent choice.
This is nothing incredibly, heart-stoppingly important that should cause conflicts between users or take attention away from the growth of the wiki, and other important topics. Thanks!
