Bahamut (バハムート Bahamūto ) is one of Xigbar's weapons in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It can be upgraded to Bahamut+ and Bahamut++. As a ground attack, the Bahamut fires like a shotgun. Using Xigbar's aerial attack, he stands upside down and fire directly below himself.
Etymology
The Bahamut is named after the summon, Bahamut, one of the Final Fantasy series most famous summons. A great and powerful dragon appearing in nearly all of the main Final Fantasy games, Bahamut usually appears as a plot device. His signature attack, Mega Flare, appears in the form of an extremely powerful Fire-based Sleight in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.
Bahamut (Arabic بهموت Bahamūt) originated as an enormous fish in ancient pre-Islamic Arabian mythology. Upon Bahamut's back stands a bull with four thousand eyes, ears, noses, mouths, tongues and feet called "Kujuta" (also spelled "Kuyutha"). Between each of these is a distance of a 500-year journey. On the back of Kujuta is a mountain of ruby. Atop this mountain is an angel who carries six hells, earth, and seven heavens on its shoulders.
Another version of the Arabic story is that Bahamut is indeed a dragon and he stands on a whale called "Liwash".
Gameplay
The basic ground attack consists of Xigbar combining the Arrowguns into a sniper rifle and firing three shots simultaneously in a wide arc. When executing an aerial attck, Xigbar flips up and stands upside down while firing three shots striaght downward from his combined Arrowguns.
