High-Speed Step (高速ステップ Kōsoku Suteppu ) is a technique introduced in Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories. It allows the user to dodge attacks with a backward dash performed while moving forward.
Mechanics
In Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, High-Speed Step is an innate movement ability that is executed by double-tapping the control pad in a direction during battle. In Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, it is executed by pressing and can also be used outside of battle. In combat, High-Speed Step grants invulnerability for about as long as Riku's feet are off the ground. In Dark Mode, the movement speed is increased, but no invulnerability is given.
In Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories the High-Speed Step's animation differs a lot: the user rolls forward, with the palm of the hand on the ground, then leaps forwards.
