Is he a Heartless or a living Character?

Gnut2.0 - It is the fate of a Nobody TALK - An entity shrouded in mystery. OK, I really want to figure this out once and for all. Is Chernabog a Heartless or not? If he was, wouldn't he be in the category of a pure blood 'cues he doesn't have an emblem (unlike the rest of the Heartless in that world.)

And we already now who his body guard was when we fought him in the boss battles. If he was his body guard, he would look more like the Guardian thing on his back. Either: 1 He is a bodyguard to Ansem. 2 He appeared to be asleep or something, and Sora woke him up. 3 He is terrortorial and Evil Ground was his property, so attacked who he saw as tresspassers. He's Chernabog. He's the friggin devil He attacked become he is a straight up evil monser. 'Nuff said.

Well, now that the game has introduced the concept of "True" Darkness, and that these Darknesses were once people that gave their humanity up to become what they are but they would what remains of it's humanity as wellc becoming into the beings of Darkness now known as Heartless, it's safe to say that Chernabog himself was once a True Darkness unrelated to the 13 ones from Union X, and after sometime between the games, it's somehow ended up at the Bald Mountain. Since that world was different yet it's had a Dark aura around it, the True Darkness has adapted into it to become more like the Black God that we know about today. It's also would make sense considering what we know about them, as one thing TvTroupes tells about them: It can apparently shapeshift/disguise itself, or at least put on some sort of glamour. As Darkness and Ventus leave the abandoned house after killing Strelitzia, when the entity steps out of the shadow and into the light it instantly takes on Master Ava's form. Likewise in Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind, assuming it's not merely a monster that's created and summoned by Darkness, it (or something using the same alias) takes on the form of a Dark Inferno χ Heartless when it does battle with Sora. It could at least tell us that Chernabog was once a True Darkness that was casted into the Bald Mountain, and due to the exposture to the darkness, it's managed to shape itself as the Devil of Darkness that the residents fear, and in order to still and try to keep what remains of it's consciousness and sapience, it's begans summoning the spirits of the dead from that world and even call and mold it's own minions of darkness, the devils and imps of the place to have a way of interaction. Plus, it also works since according to Union x again (more specifically of the Tvtroupes page:The Keyblade War wiped a lot of them out, leaving only thirteen separate self-aware beings of darkness left. Seven of them are currently in the Foretellers. One is sealed within Ventus and another one was last seen with Luxu in the real Daybreak Town, while the remaining four are trapped inside the data cables leading to the Game Central Station. Even worse, it's revealed that they used to be physical beings but cast off their flesh in order to defeat the light. Not only are only six individuals left, but they are implied to be slowly losing their sense of self as well. Even if they survive they'll likely devolve into mindless monsters with time. It could meant that they were more True Darkness before the Keyblade War wiped them out, and maybe one of them that was separated from the main thirtheen was infact the one that could have become Chernabog. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Luis Arturo (talk • contribs)

Name?

What proof is there that his name is Chernabog? He was left unnamed in both Kingdom Hearts and Fantasia, and walkthrough sites just call him the winged demon. (Bananaphone1996 04:31, April 29, 2010 (UTC))

Not sure. Maybe similar to how you can fly while fighting the World of Chaos? Keep in mind Sora has two glide abilities by now in Kingdom Hearts. To continue, if Sora and company weren't able to fly in this battle, they'd fall down a black, bottomless pit.--Xion4ever 02:47, June 12, 2010 (UTC)

Final Boss

This is from TV Tropes from someone who says it came from a BBS artbook, so not sure how truthful it is. Apparently, Chernabog was meant to be the final boss of the original game, the embodiment of all darkness and evil, and the final dungeon would have taken place on Bald Moutain, with the light of Kingdom Hearts destroying Chernabog in the same way the light of dawn drove him back in Fantasia. This obviously didn't happen, but they left him in to use as a boss anyway. Doreiku Kuroofangu 14:18, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

KH3D stats

Since Chernabog is fought like in Dive Mode, he doesn't have stats like the other bosses but only a max HP stat (600) and damage stats for each attack. Here's a scan. How should we cover this? TheSilentHero 18:41, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

Fiends

About the Fiends…I just noticed that their infobox being on this page messes up the way Chernobog shows up in categories such as Category:Entelechy (he shows up under "F"; might also apply to other categories, I didn't try them all). I'm not active enough to suggest a fix, but I just thought I'd raise the issue since it's not a trivial fix. -Alarielle- (talk) 19:45, 9 August 2023 (UTC)

I changed the templates so the pages get categorized by page name, rather than the name from the infobox, as that causes issues like this when there's multiple infoboxes on the same page. TheSilentHero 16:51, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
