Composition

"Waltz of the Damned" is approximately fifty-two seconds long. It is, fittingly, a waltz, in 3/8 time. It plays at a tempo of 67 beats per minute. It begins in the key of D minor, then modulates into G minor at the height of the piece, before returning to D minor just before the loop, which is seamless. There is no introduction, though there is a harp arpeggio that plays at the very beginning of the piece that is not repeated on further loops. The instruments used are strings (both pizzicato and bowed), oboe, bassoon, harp, chimes, female vocals, brass, cymbals, and bass drum.
