Baldr is a character in Kingdom Hearts Dark Road. He is a student of Master Odin.
Story
Kingdom Hearts Dark Road
After the disappearance of his sister and the other upper classmen during the Mark of Mastery exam, Baldr receives a different task from Master Odin and is not sent together with his classmates to find them. Episode 1: Unexpected Departure Baldr later reveals his sister, Hoder, was killed trying to protect him from Maleficent. [1] The negative emotion and rage from his sister's death allowed him to be possessed by a Willful Darkness named Hringhorn. Baldr goes on a rampage, killing many throughout Scala Ad Caelum. In his quest to kill 13 lights to feed 13 darknesses, he successfully assassinated all 6 of his sister's classmates, as well as Hermod, Urd and Vor.
In a final battle atop a tower in Scala Ad Caelum, Eraqus and Xehanort fight Baldr long enough for Master Odin to appear and restrain him with chains from the No Name keyblade. Though he makes a last ditch appeal to Xehanort to join him, Baldr is struck with a fatal blow from Xehanort and fades away - the Willful Darkness Hringhorn seemingly being destroyed along with him. [2]
Design
Baldr is a youth with fair skin, grey eyes, and long, platinum hair. He wears a white, hooded jacket that is golden on the inside with Terra's Mark, a black vest, and black pants with blue criss-crossing straps. Under the vest is a white undershirt.
In Norse mythology, Baldr was the god of light, joy, purity, and the summer sun. When possessed by the Willful Darkness, he becomes a heartless named Hringhorn, whose name is possibly based on Hringhorni, Baldr's ship in Norse Mythology described as the greatest of all ships. [3]
Abilities
Like his classmates, Baldr wields the Keyblade.
