The Protect Chain is an accessory found in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts Final Mix.
Etymology
The strange Japanese spelling for "Protect" (プロテス Purotesu ) is used throughout the Final Fantasy franchise, and the exact reason for it is unknown. While it certainly means "Protect" in context, it is possible it is also used as a wordplay to reference the mythical Proetus, king of Tiryns, son of Abas and twin brother of Acrisius; at the very least, this double-meaning is played on within the Kingdom Hearts series.
