Block-Counter (ガードカウンター Gādo Kauntā , lit. "Guard Counter"), dubbed as Counterguard in Kingdom Hearts II, is an ability that appears in Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. It allows the user to counterattack immediately after a block with the Attack command.
Mechanics
In Kingdom Hearts II, Counterguard is an action ability that costs 4 AP to equip. While Guard must be equipped to use this ability, parrying an attack also allows the ability to be used. Sora unleashes a fast, invisible blast that hits all close-ranged enemies and can interrupt most attacks, dealing Neutral damage that bypasses physical defenses in the process.
In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Block-Counter is an ability panel that must be linked to a Block ② or Block ④ panel.
In Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, Block-Counter is an accessory ability. Block must be equipped to use this ability. When active, the Overclock ability Auto-Counter allows Block-Counter to be used automatically.
