Phantom Aqua is an antagonist in Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-. She is a phantom version of Aqua, the personification of her doubts and insecurities, and is encountered in the Realm of Darkness.

Story

When Aqua finds herself in the remnants of Dwarf Woodlands, she finds a mysterious mirror. Her reflection comes to life and pulls her inside. Now trapped in the Spirit of the Mirror's realm again, Aqua has her reflection stolen by three mirrors that are hidden among others containing Heartless. As Aqua journeys through the first mirror, her own voice taunts her by saying her actions are futile and that no-one cares about her. Upon Aqua finding the first part of her stolen reflection, Phantom Aqua comes out of it to attack her, but is defeated.

Aqua continues afterward, slaying the remaining Phantom Aquas while putting up with their taunts. However, Aqua's heart had been stung by the hurtful words said by the phantom. Everything it said came from the doubts in her own heart, and the darkness had found a way to use it against her by manifesting her doubts as the phantom.

Abilities

As a copy of Aqua, Phantom Aqua has all of the real Aqua's abilities, even wielding a copy of the Master's Defender Keyblade. In battle, Phantom Aqua teleports, creates doppelgängers, and spawns large ice crystals to attack her enemies. Phantom Aqua can also use the Spellweaver Command Style.
