:I wonder about the uses it has to offer. However, as Ignis pointed out, I'm not too sure/fond of the whole extra account idea.. I dunno. https://discordapp.com/channels/272088543478677516/272088543478677516 I just made a Discord Channel for the KHWiki considering the IRC channel is mostly inactive and that this might be a suitable replacement. 19:48, 20 January 2017 (UTC)
- I....don't know if this'll work out. I mean, you have to make an account for it. IRC, on the other hand, was literally just click on the link and type in a username. And even that was too difficult for some people. I whipped up an account, but I'm not seeing anyone in here. --Ignis (talk) 22:57, 20 January 2017 (UTC)
- Well discord allows you to change your text and have voice and video conversations. Byzantinefire - There are no strings on me (talk) 23:45, 20 January 2017 (UTC)
- Like I said, this is highly unlikely to work. But if you're content to try it out, then why don't you put up a front-page notice. It's definitely not going to work if this forum thread is the only place people will see of it. --Ignis (talk) 00:05, 21 January 2017 (UTC)
- It will work. Byzantinefire - There are no strings on me (talk) 00:09, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

- I can't guarantee it will get every user on, but good on you for the initiative."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 13:50, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

- Well, I got dragged into this first, so I might as well pitch in. I'm in agreement with Xion-chan. I honestly don't see the benefit of having a Discord Channel for the KHWiki when we have a fully operational IRC channel of our own. I think having the IRC is better for the wiki. I said this on my talk page, but I'll post it here, as well:
- A.) For the IRC, you don't even need an account to sign into it. Even users don't have an official account on the KHWiki are able to sign into it. The Discord Channel forces users who want to use to make an account to use it.
- B.) As it's on-site, you don't have to leave the wiki to go to a different site just to talk to other users.
- C.) The Discord Channel allows users to change their text, but I think that's one of the down sides of it. IRC channels are typically disabled from other wikias because how much they are abused by users. Changing text when a conversation gets out of hand can eliminate evidence of a user's wrongdoings. Our IRC doesn't, which preserves all evidence of a user's misbehavior as long as someone screencaps it.
- Hypothetically speaking, if the KHWiki were to do come to an agreement about using the Discord Channel, there's also the matter of assigning mods to watch over the channel. We also need to consider the possibility that if the KHWiki agrees to use the Discord Channel, then what will happen to the IRC? Should we get rid it? And what about the users who don't want to create an extra account to just to talk to users that we are perfectly capable of talking to on our on-site IRC, like Xion-chan and myself?--NinjaSheik 23:26, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
