"The Other Promise" is the theme played during the battle with Roxas in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix in The World That Never Was. It is an arrangement of Roxas's original theme, "Roxas," and plays as an orchestral piece that portrays Roxas's somber and troubled life as a Nobody confused about his identity. A stronger, more mellow, and deeper version of The Other Promise appears in Drammatica, which features Yoko Shimomura's most popular work. The Other Promise is also featured in the Piano Collections Kingdom Hearts.

The Other Promise is heard in all trailers for Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, as well as on the official site of the game. It was rumored that The Other Promise would be the theme song to Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, but it was revealed in an interview that the game's theme would be Sanctuary, as it is in Kingdom Hearts II. It is heard in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days when Xion and Axel face off.

Another arrangement of this piece is heard in Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX version of Kingdom Hearts Re:coded during Data-Sora's clash with Data-Roxas and their later conversation.
