Learning Speed Combo
Data-Sora obtains Speed Combo whilst progressing through the story. After returning Dewey back to Cid in Traverse Town, Data-Sora is rewarded with Speed Combo.
Mechanics
As a Type B Finisher, Speed Combo has a bit more complex controls. Once activated by pressing A once the Overclock gauge is MAX, a recreation of the D-Pad of the DS appears on the top screen as well as a box to the left which says Combo Limit. The D-Pad replaces the down button with a big square containing a arrow pointing either up, down, left or right. Whatever is in that square you must quickly press on your D-Pad and what helps to do it quickly is that beneath the big square is another smaller square containing the arrow that is coming after you press the correct button for the current arrow. In the box labeled Combo Limit are two numbers separated by a /. Every time you press the correct button the first number increases by 1 but if you press the wrong button the number does not change and the process slows down. The second number is 15 and that is the max amount of times you can press a number correctly before the limit ends which happens after a certain period of time. Every time you press a button correctly Dara-Sora attacks the enemy closest to him and if you press the button 15 times Data-Sora does a stronger, finishing blow.
