Kairi

Yo, Akamoron here. I felt a need to start a discussion on Kairi. So here are a few topics...

Princess?

If Kiari was the princess of Radiant Garden, wouldn't that make her Ansem the wise's daughter? or Gradaughter?

Sorry to nag, but first of all... PLEASE spell her name right! So... fair question, but I'm pretty sure the answer is no. No relation. Besides, the Ansem Reports mention that he selected "a girl". Don't you think that Xehanort would assign a little more significance if said girl was related to Ansem the Wise?

Though this does raise questions on the issue of a monarchy vs. Ansem the Wise ruling Radiant Garden, it may be that there was a monarchy but that Ansem essentially was ruler. Roughly analogous to the UK's monarchy, perhaps.

Of course, there is potential interpretation in the term "Princess", since Alice and Belle are "Princesses", yet aren't generally classed as such in the royal sense, unlike Snow White, Jasmine, Aurora and Cinderella.

Agreed, look at Wendy. No royal blood mentioned, and she gets mistaken for a princess of heart. If she were a actual princess, not princess of heart the other kind, they would say so or call her " Princess Wendy ".--PrincessAndie8thprincessofheart 17:33, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

SoraXKairi?

Though there are many scenes where Sora and Kairi show that they really care for eachother (as in more than 'just friends'). They never really admitted it, well...openly anyway. When are they going to kiss or do something; c'mon Square, throw us a bone!

Oh, surely you know how Square-Enix love to make us squirm. Anyway, they never confirmed, say, CloudXAeris/Tifa either way. They just like to leave the niche open for pairings.

For reference, SoraXKairi, RoxasXNaminé and CloudXAeris 4evar from me!

@PrincessAndie: There may be a reason Sora and Kairi haven't gone further with this, you know. Ever consider what the rating on this game series, which has Disney characters out the wazoo, would be if these two ended up having a scene together? They may be trying to keep that consistent so the younger-end players can see the 'entire' series instead of being restricted by parents or the law. Still, we can hope. 67.43.20.244 20:12, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Well On my page there is a member ( not saying names ) who said that they ( Sora and Kairi ) were gonna kiss but Disney forced Square Enix to take the scene out. That might be the reason. Besides, the youngest age i can think of for people playing these games and understand them is 10 ( which that was me might I add ) 3 years later I'm still stuck in them. and i'm used to the nasty stuff. people on my bus cuss all the time and a girl in my 1st grade cussed once too.

well i hope they kiss in kh3 but in disney movies people kiss and sometimes in square games they kiss come on i see no reason why they can't make sora and kairi kiss

The age rating on the Final Fantasy series, if I'm not mistaken, is higher than the age rating on the Kingdom Hearts series. As for the Disney movies, they may be intended for kids, but I've seen stuff that has the joke more intended for adult humor. For example, ever see Aladdin and the King of Thieves? And I quote from Genie looking like a fat girl popping out of a triple decker cake: "It's a bachelor party, big boy!" Keyblader 22:19, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

I think they should kiss! In Hannah Montana and stuff when she was 15 she was toungin almost ever boy that she saw!!! I think that's stupid and you're right! Only teens really play the game! Ninabean822

Alright, I'll give you the fact that mostly teens play the game, and the few teens who dare play a game with Disney characters in it at that, but part of the fanbase is teetering on the lower end of the age rating, possibly lower than what is reccommended if the kid trying to buy the game is smart enough. Yes, they are old enough to have at the very least a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship but there are three things wrong with making this happen:

1: Despite both seeing the cave drawing, the two are completely clueless on the subject

2: While Sora has had fantasies and hinted at the fact that he feels about Kairi at that level, it has never been explicitly stated.

3: Nomura has already stated that he doesn't really care who gets together with whom, and that he's going to leave the subject to the gamers' imaginations.

In short, the chances of this happening are much lower than the demand going around. End of story. I'm sorry, I like this pairing as much as anyone else, but the chances of it actually happening in the official game series is practically zero.

Yeah i know ur right...but...the paopu fruit is a symbol of lovers on their world...and when they both saw the picture they both knew they liked each other. (srry the way i said it kinda sounds like im not making any sense). User:Ninabean822

The paopu is nothing of the sort. The legend is that if two people share a paopu their destinies become forever entwined, and they will always be part of each other's lives. If you think that means lovers by default, I call to your attention the fact that archnemeses (e.g. Cloud and Sephiroth) are destined to forever be rivals, i.e. their destinies are totally entwined. But outside of disturbing fanfiction and hentai, they most certainly aren't lovers.

Note that I have nothing against Yaoi etc. But CloudXSephy is just going too far

Actually, I can see where they would come up with that. Attempting to intertwine your lives that tightly has to have a major commitment behind it, and inscribing the desire to make it happen on a cave wall, in my opinion, is the next best thing. So in a sense, it could be a symbol of lovers, though I don't argue with your point: it was never explicitly stated in the game.

Kairi's Arrival at Destiny Islands

EMO_NA1.jpg
xNaminéx - 大キライだけど好き!
TALK - I am...glad.
I think I figured out all the mysterious factors of Kairi showing up at Destiny Islands: Kairi is a Princess of Heart, meaning that 10 years ago, during Birth by Sleep, she would have been targeted by Maleficent, Master Xehanort, his apprentice, and possibley Terra Ven and Aqua. Now, from the Ansem Reports, we can assume that King Mickey and Ansem the Wise met and started working together aroud the time of Birth by Sleep. What I think happened is, Ansem and/or Mickey somehow found out that Kairi was in fact one of the "seven maidens of pure light". As a last resort to keep Maleficent, Master Xehanort, his apprentice, and possibley even Terra Ven and Aqua from obtaining all the Princesses, they took one, Kairi, in a (newly invented) Gummi Ship and hid her on the small, unsuspecting world of Destiny Islands. The meteor shower started "as a result of its door being opened" (see Origin section of Gummi Ship). I find this to be my least favorite of all my theories, but I wouldn't waste my time posting it if I didn't find it likely. Tell me what you all think.

Symbol - Magic Hat.png
FA icon.png Accepted. By the way, xNaminex's theory is right, according to Director's Secret Report XIII. Also, the Final Mix version of the Ansem Reports do state that Xehanort's Heartless knew of the connection between the Keyblade wielder and the Princess of Heart, and he was fully aware of Kairi's status when he sent her off to the Destiny Islands, hoping that his hypothesis would actually come to fruition.

There are some things even the stars cannot tell me. TroisNyxÉtienne

where the hell in director's secret report 13 say that

okay xNaminex's theory was that the "Real" Ansem and king mickey sent kairi to destiny islands to keep her safe, whereas Xehanort's reports state that he sent "on the ocean of worlds" to find the keybearer (and presumably kill him/convert him)

Symbol Character - Mickey.png
FA icon.png Okay, lemme get this straight - all of you are confusing me !

I re-read xNaminex's theory (which you don't have to put in bold italics), and yes, there's an error. Xehanort sent Kairi to DI, believing that the Princess of Heart and the wielder are connected, and he waited for years to test that hypothesis.

Killing or converting him would not be an option, though, as he knows that the Keyblade wielder has some power which he'd wanna use for his own ends.

Okay xNaminex had a good theory.Wrong, but a step in the right direction. But this? This is getting ridiculous. I have a question when and how did Kairi get to the Destiny Islands--Firaga44 01:48, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Well in the ansem report he refers to where he sends her as the "ocean of other worlds".Nomura also uses a similar wording when mentiong space as the "the sea of outer space" I forgot where though.SO it's likely that she was placed in a gummi ship and landed at destiny islands kinda like superman. As to when it's probably in the BBS timeframe.--74.210.24.180 05:21, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

I wonder if Kairi's showing up during a meteor shower influenced Namine's choice in placing the false memories of her asking for protection from the meteors in Sora and Repliku's hearts? It has been stated that Namine doesn't remember Kairi's life, but I can't help but feel it was purposely put there to signify something between Kairi and Namine's relationship.

Barely a day goes by when my periodic check of my watchlist doesn't show an IP that has edited the Kairi article. Of course, it's only been vandalism a couple of times, but is it worth semi-protecting the article?

Category: Suggestion

Symbol Character - Mickey.png
FA icon.png If you ask me, no... Because sometimes, valuable edits are made, and the grammar needs to be checked. I remember the Heartless article was semi-protected at one time - I couldn't edit, adn the grammar was all out, even if the info was intact. I don't know - someone voiced this out later, and it's now open for public editing.

Eh, you're probably right about leaving it unprotected.

Just out of interest: correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't semi-protect mean it can be edited by any registered user, whereas it's full-protect that's admins only? In which case, why couldn't you, as you said, edit the Heartless article? :S

Kairi was pretty young in that memory, and that grandma (excuse me if this sounds rude) didn't look like much more than skin and bones. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if she had gone either way by now. Whether or not she is alive, however, you can bet your ass that Kairi will do everything she can to try and find her the minute she sets foot in Radiant Garden should the subject even be hinted at. Are you sure she's just 15? Because honestly I thought she was 18 or something when I played the game. She looks a lot taller than she did in KH1, a growth spurt that cannot be accomplished in a year (the laws of physics dictate it and that's one law you cannot break).

She grew about 3 feet. But still you do have a good point.

You may recall that Sora was a head shorter than Goofy in KH1. in KH2, he is a head taller than Goofy. Compare Kairi's height in KH1 to Sora's height in KH1. Now compare Kairi's height in KH2 to Sora's height in KH2. From there, you can gain a rough estimate of the difference in Kairi's height. As for age, that should be easy to determine, considering that only one year passed between KH1 and KH2 (or to be more specific, the first 358 days of Roxas' existance, plus the 6 days that he spent in the virtual Twilight Town; 364 days in total, give or take a few hours). You can also gain a rough estimate on what her growth is by looking at the difference in her height from Sora's daydream in Halloween Town and when they reunite in the World That Never was. She obviously gained about her own head in height, and Flashpenny is right, that kind of growth spurt doesn't happen in a year - IN REAL LIFE. JudgementDay has the fact correct that not all the laws of physics apply to this game world. For example, during KH1, if you used the spell Thunder in Atlantica, the water should have shocked everything in the water to oblivion, including the one casting it and his allies, yet in the game, it only targets the enemy as intended. This is called a fantasy game for a reason, people. (JudgementDay, I don't mean that in your direction.)
