Sanctuary

Sanctuary is the song from the opening AMV of Kingdom Hearts II. It is sung by Utada Hikaru. It was written and produced by Hikaru before it's Japanese counterpart Passion. Both the English and the Japanese versions of the song are sung by Utada. "Sanctuary", like "Passion", includes several instances of reversed lyrics throughout the song.

Beyond the language in which they are sung, "Passion" and "Sanctuary" have only minor differences, such as some of the reversed lyrics. However, in both the Japanese and English versions of the song, the reversed portions are sung in English. Played throughout the song is "I need more affection than you know"; in the "battleground" stanza, "So many ups and downs" and "I need true emotions" are played.
