The Specter is summoned by [[Marluxia]] once [[Sora]] confronts him. Now fused with it, Marluxia has the Specter attack. However, Sora breaks the Specter's scythes and badly damages it. Marluxia decides to up the ante, enlarging the Specter, so he and Sora can face off one last time. Once Marluxia is defeated, the Specter vanishes into the darkness with him.
After being defeated by [[Sora]] one-on-one, [[Marluxia]] summons the Specter and commands it to attack the Keyblade wielder while he commands it from atop its crown. Even this is no match for Sora, however, who breaks the Specter's scythe arms and attacks Marluxia.  
 
Upon defeat in the RE:CoM port, Marluxia instead enlarges and modifies the Nobody, engaging in another round of combat with Sora.
 
In both games, once Marluxia is defeated, the Specter fades into darkness along with its commander.
