The Dragoon is a high-ranking Nobody controlled by Xaldin that is found in Kingdom Hearts II.

The Dragoon is a Nobody that mostly appear in Beast's Castle. It is controlled by Xaldin.

A Dragoon is a thin, dragon-like creature with silver and purple skin. Its hands only have two distinct digits, while its feet have three long, purple toes each. It also has a thin, purple tail and sharp, white wings with purple tips lined by spikes resembling those on the Nobody symbol. The Dragoon's real face is a small round and black head with a closed jagged mouth located within its neck, which is hollow, while its draconian "head" acts as something of a helmet. This "helmet" sports a jagged, open mouth at its end, lacks eyes, and is lined by thin spikes. The Dragoon's upper body and "neck" are covered in magenta straps. There is also a white Nobody sigil on its left thigh. Like all lesser Nobodies, Dragoons have astounding levels of flexibility. It wields a Nobody Lance in battle, which it has a 1% chance of dropping upon defeat for Donald to use as a staff.

The Dragoon is very spiky, and wields lances. Though most Nobodies are white, it is mostly purple.
The Dragoon is based on the Dragoon (job) from Final Fantasy. This in turn was named after the real life dragoon used by the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries armies in Europe and in the American Revolution. In addition, the "Learn" Reaction Command is used by Blue Mages in the Final Fantasy series in order to mimic monster abilities.

Dragoons and their master are, technically, the Kingdom Hearts homage to the Dragoon/Dragon Knight character class of the original Final Fantasy series due to their usage of spears, being dragon-themed (the Nobodies themselves appear as humanoid dragons and Xaldin's spears are dragon-shaped as is his strongest attack) and that they use the Jump ability, the job's signature ability. The fact that these Nobodies, plus Xaldin's spears, are purple also stems from the fact that the standard Final Fantasy Dragoon wears purple or dark blue dragon armor or clothing.
The Dragoon's pose in its official render mimics that of Kain Highwind, a Dragoon from Final Fantasy IV.

Dragoons are one of the most powerful Nobodies. When they appear they shoot direactly to the ground causing damage. Jump to avoid the shockwave attack then lead up with a combo. They use the jump attack constantly and it can make fighting difficult. Sora can use the Jump reaction command to eliminate them more easily. The Jump ability also becomes extremely useful when fighting Xaldin. In The World That Never Was when they appear at high levels they can be elimated with Session.

The Dragoon is a high-ranking Nobody controlled by Xaldin that is found in Kingdom Hearts II.

Design[edit]

The Dragoon is based on the eponymous job class from Final Fantasy. This in turn was named after the real life cavalry used by the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries armies in Europe and in the American Revolution. In addition, the "Learn" Reaction Command is used by Blue Mages in the Final Fantasy series in order to mimic monster abilities.

The Dragoon's pose in its official render mimics that of Kain Highwind, a Dragoon from Final Fantasy IV.

Strategy[edit]

Dragoons are one of the most powerful Nobodies. When they appear, they drop directly to the ground, causing damage. Jump to avoid the shockwave attack, and then lead up with a combo. They use the jump attack constantly, and it can make fighting difficult. Sora can use the "Learn" Reaction Command, followed by "Jump" to eliminate them more easily. In The World That Never Was, where they appear at high levels, they can be eliminated with Eternal Session.

When a Dragoon prepares its Spinning Swing attack while another Dragoon appears, the latter Dragoon will remain invincible, untargettable, and invisible, until it uses Jump again.
