The Catanuki is a palette swap of the [[Meow Wow]], its design based upon that of a {{w|tanuki}}. It sports a mainly orange body and a white underbelly, the tail has a purple spiral design that leads to the base of the tail and spreads into a small purple patch on its rear. On the sides the blotch is now a peach color, the legs are white with a purple band and the feet are a gradient from white to orange. The face resembles the tanuki the most, with a small green leaf on its forehead (instead of the normal Meow Wow horn) and a purple patch of fur underneath its eyes. The tips of the ears are also purple.

The Catanuki is a Dream Eater that was introduced in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD.

Development[edit]

In a Famitsu interview, Tetsuya Nomura explains that the Catanuki "was something the Osaka team really wanted to add to the game," and that the Catanuki will be exclusive to Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD.[1]

Design[edit]

The Catanuki is a tanuki-themed palette swap of a Meow Wow.

The Catanuki's English name is a portmanteau of "cat" and "tanuki".
