I'd be happy to take part in the user trivia. It's a good idea. I like the world creation idea as well, though I doubt that I would have the time to come up with something myself. 20:37, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
| |||
{{KeybladeSpyMaster|time=06:20, 16 November 2014 (UTC)|text=I am excited for this mega-event. As far as feedback or whatever, I have nothing to say for the User Trivia Event. It looks like all the kinks for that one have been worked out, to me. It looks perfect to me right now. For the World Event, I think we need to set some basic requirements as for what to expect. Like, we could set a requirement, say, of creating at least the name, basic plot/story, and then let the imagination go beyond that to whatever you want. Why the requirement? So we don't end up with a ton of random "My-idea-is-a-world-based-on-The-Avengers-and-I-have-nothing-more-the-end" ideas. Plus, for some, it's easier to compare when there's at least something similar to compare. I don't want a strict set of requirements, 'cuz that boggs down the whole freedom thing, too. Maybe just the name?
We need to spread the word for the User Trivia Event at this point. We've got about two weeks before November is out, so we're running out of time. Also, as far as hosting, I think we should host the User Trivia guesses at the Keyhole. As for the World Event, I think the ideas should be hosted at the Fanon Wiki (I hope that's what Xion meant), while the voting could be held here, to split the activity. We could reverse the voting/guesses, and have the User Trivia guesses here and the World Voting at the Keyhole, that's up to you guys. But I think that's what Xion meant when she said to get in touch with the Fanon Wiki, is to host the World ideas themselves there. Though I could be wrong; after all, I don't read minds...}}
{{TheFifteenthMember|time= 12:02, 16 November 2014 (UTC)|default=Instead of having requirements like those, we could do a minimum word limit of say 70 words? Then that's more supportive to people who may have ideas on gameplay but not on story.
Yes, I think we can start taking user trivia submissions by now. We should advertise via sitenotice. In the veins of KHWiki:End of Year Event 2012 and KHWiki:ReMIX Contest, we should create a KHWiki:End of Year Event 2014 page for the hub of the competition (do this on both Wikis).
As for hosting, I'm thinking that we can split the user trivia between us. The KHWiki has the trivia from the Keyhole users (since that's what we're answering) and the Keyhole has ours. Answers will be done through email and results will be showcased in the magazine and they're both shared between the two Wikis anyway. That seems like the fairest way to split the hosting.
As for the World Event, I'm not so sure what we can do. I think that the actual submissions themselves can be hosted anywhere: in their userspace on the KHWiki, a blog on the Keyhole or on the Fanon Wiki. It doesn't matter as long as a) it's their work and b) it was created for this competition (no recycling articles that you wrote for something else). People can link via URLs so that's no matter. The issue is figuring out where we can carry out the voting. I propose that once the submissions are locked in, we have a voting page on both Wikis so that editors from both Wikis can vote easily. Then, the votes will be added together from both pages and the results released in the magazine. Alternatively, we could just host the voting on one Wiki but then it doesn't become a co-competition.}}
| |||

| |||

{{TheFifteenthMember|time= 19:36, 27 November 2014 (UTC)|dango=ATTENTION ALL FELLOW WIKIERS!
We are looking for someone who can take up the heavy role of being the "patroller" for the user trivia contest. The job entails that they check the wiki email every-so-often to take in the submissions and answers for the user trivia, checking for all subject line "User Trivia" emails.
To break down the job exactly, in stage one of the contest (people sending in the facts about themselves), they'll have to check the email on Dec 04 and make a list of all the people who signed up but has not yet handed in their fact. You must then <s>hound</s> remind them to send it in before the 7th (or give the list to me so I can handle it) or else they won't be able to take part. On the 7th, they need to divide the sign-ups into two groups randomly by using a random name generator and make a list of the Group One names and Group One facts and the same with the Group 2. Fast forward, on the 27th, they need to take in the results and send them to me or anyone else working on the magazine so they can put them into the magazine.
The drawback is the patroller can't actually participate in the competition himself. Hence, we are looking for a member of staff that isn't interested in taking part in the user trivia contest, but has the time to help out with the patrolling job. You can be a long-time, non-staff editor but you'll need to ask the bcrats if you're allowed access to the wiki email.
I shall love whoever takes up the patrolling job forever <small>(which is totally a reward, in case you were confused)</small>. Thank you!}}
I think I can handle this task. All I have to do is remind the people in the contest, right? 01:23, 28 November 2014 (UTC)
:I'm okay to do it, too, if you want. I don't mind. 02:52, 28 November 2014 (UTC)
::I don't think you can do it if you've signed up for the event. :p 13:28, 28 November 2014 (UTC)
:::I don't mind not participating in the event, though. I can't really come up with a good fact anyways (I'm just not really any interesting...XD), and besides, I already have access to the wiki's email. 01:13, 29 November 2014 (UTC)
I can do either or, you can give me access to the wiki's email, or I just find some trivia about me and take your place. (I'm pretty boring too.) 12:30, 29 November 2014 (UTC)
:KSM: Sure that you don't want to participate? 18:00, 29 November 2014 (UTC)
:Yeah, just gimme access to the Wiki's email, and then you can participate. 20:16, 29 November 2014 (UTC)
::I really don't mind being patroller. It's of no difference to me. My hesitance earlier this week was because I didn't have access to the wiki's email, but I do now, anyways, so I don't mind doing it. 21:48, 29 November 2014 (UTC)
:::Alright then. In that case, thanks for being the patroller! ^_^ 22:47, 29 November 2014 (UTC) |
