Thunder, Thundara, and Thundaga are a series of magic introduced in Kingdom Hearts. They utilize the element of Lightning, and are associated with the Lightning material. Thunder spells summon lightning bolts from the sky to rain down on enemies, dealing Thunder-type damage.
In Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage- and Kingdom Hearts III, Thundaza, also translated as Thundaja, appears as an even more powerful tier.
Story[edit]
Kingdom Hearts[edit]
Donald Duck casts a Thunder spell to wake up a sleeping Goofy.
Mechanics[edit]
Kingdom Hearts[edit]
In Kingdom Hearts, Thunder is offensive magic that can be used by Sora and Donald. Thunder calls down bolts of lightning to strike the target area. It is useful for hitting a group of enemies a distance. The higher-tier Thundara and Thundaga call down greater numbers of more powerful lightning bolts. Thunder costs 1 MP to use.
Genie may cast Thunder as part of his Showtime ability.
Thunder magic can be used to activate certain objects in the field, including the exposed wires in the Third District that activate the platforms inside the Gizmo Shop, certain kind of flowers in Wonderland, and the stone tablet on the upper level of the Entrance Hall that activates the moving platforms.
Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories[edit]
In Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Thunder is a Magic Card that can be used by Sora.
The Genie Summon Card, the Donald and Jack Skellington Friend Cards, and their associated sleights can cast Thunder magic when used. Larxene also uses Thundara as her magic attack.
The Thunder card is required for the following sleights:

Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-[edit]
In Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-, Thundaga is a default offensive spell that summons a cluster of lightning strikes at the targeted enemy, inflicting damage to anything caught in the radius. It consumes 12 MP, 15 MP prior to Update 1.02.
Repeatedly casting Thundaga results in the Thundaja Situation Command, in which Aqua creates a hail of stronger lightning bolts that shock the entire area around her.
Kingdom Hearts III[edit]
In Kingdom Hearts III, Thunder magic works much the same way as in 0.2. Thunder, Thundara, and Thundaga are magic spells that unleash a cluster of lightning strikes at the targeted enemy, dealing Thunder damage to all enemies in the surrounding area. Enemies hit by Thunder magic will be inflicted with the Electrified status effect, with Thunder inflicting it for 5 seconds, Thundara for 7 seconds, and Thundaga and Thundaza for 10 seconds. The area and intensity of the lightning strikes varies depending on the tier used. Thunder consumes 14 MP, Thundara 20 MP, and Thundaga 28 MP. Repeatedly casting Thundaga in battle can result in the Thundaza Situation Command, which summons a larger and more intense thunderstorm.

Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory[edit]
In Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, Thundaga is an Ability used by Sora. It is triggered when activating an Ability Crystal against an airborne foe, and consists of Sora casting a single thunderbolt on the enemy.
