Original Character?

The original character page is not letting me edit the list of characters so I can't add the Ice Colossus. Could you do it? Or can you call the Ice Colossus an original character? TNE is for it but she needs confirmation from other users. What do you think? Organization13 12:59, June 8, 2010 (UTC)

Ah, I see now. I'm sorry. To me, it's one thing when someone is trying to edit, but isn't doing it right, but quite another when someone pretty much is just putting in crap because they can. This guy was pretty obviously the latter; I'd rather just send the message we won't tolerate it at all with a short banning. First of all, thanks for bringing up the IRC concerns, the hints at swears and subjects that are not too "PG" have been starting to become more common. A couple of channel operators, including myself, are still unclear on some of the troubling events you mentioned having transpired. I know there was a discussion ages ago about keeping most of the main ones consistent (just for clarity), but altering more casual things like the welcome template. I can't remember if that was a part of the BBS revamp discussion, though... I think we should still keep any art we use official, though; it only takes one piece of fan art for people start pointing out "But YOU guys do it!" and things becoming annoying from there. I'll seem to recall there were a couple of pretty nice pieces already avaliable for the welcome template that would look great with the BBS theme. As for the staff page, perhaps a discussion there would be more appropriate. I think it would be nice to have a change; I'm just not sure what we could change it to this time around. Keyblade masters?

I think the warning templates, for example, need to maintain a similar appearance from incarnation to incarnation so it's immediately identifiable as such to both staff and regular editors. I'm probably not going to make it on IRC tonight as I'm going to visit my parents tonight. If I happen to make it on, that would be nice, but I'm probably not going to be back until fairly late. However, I am going to try to be on tomorrow night, and if not then, then definitely Wednesday.

Since you won't let me use the BBS talk bubbles, as they're fan-made, I was limited to the Days characters. Made the task insanely hard. But I still want to do it, so don't get the wrong idea by my saying that. However, LevL and I were talking. We're doing this change for a BBS theme. Doesn't that make not using BBS images a bit stupid? Obviously full renders won't work out, so what other choice do we have? While I'm happy changing the characters/quotes/colors, changing the Days templates to Days templates when we have a BBS theme is sort of backwards logic. Plus our Days sprites are no less fan images than the BBS ones, as Xiggie chopped off the part that shows who's talking in all of the ones we used in the template. If you want to get technical, the BBS images still use official renders as a basis, and the fact that part of the image was missing all this time made the Days sprites fan-images. I still understand where you're coming from, but try to see what I mean by this. I leave for Florida very early tomorrow morning, thus having to go to bed early tonight. If you could save all changes to templates until after I get home when we could talk about this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks! EDIT: Also, let me point out one last thing. There are some images that are obviously fanart. Some we can deal with. Those that are obviousl fanart we wouldn't use. For example: You can see how these images would work out in a template here. Again, thank you so much. I know this isn't easy, but so many of us, myself included, unfortunately, want the "sub-official" talk bubble sprites used.

They only have some meager English quotes, so I'd like to put off the transition of this theme in the templates to October (I'll have beaten and probably memorized the script to BBS by then) :P That way, we get better and a wider array of quotes. Right now, what we have from the E3, Gamestop, and Gameplay trailers are not enough. Petty battle quotes will have to do, at least for the examples.

To sum up the big speech of DemonicKunai, there was a possible sockpuppet on the IRC with the I.P. address 108.25.55.70, and he abused the bot and created multiple log ins. The person said that was his nephew and his brother. I'm not sure what to say about that though. Also, there was major chaos with no OPs on the channel at the time though. [Ѧüя◎ґ]

Talk Images

Okay, two quick things, Miss Kate:

• I'm so proud of myself, I am actually getting into Doctor Who. Bwahahahaha.
• I have been doing mass image deletions lately of those images that go against the image policy, particularly the rule that if unofficial media is not in a user's talk template, it should be deleted. I noticed that many of the holiday images you created several months ago will need to be deleted, including the sprite on your user page, along with the other images on your user page. Just because isn't a bubble now does not mean it will not be again. ^_^ Seriously, I will probably be re-using my Christmas image, so if I delete it, I will have to re-upload it come the winter. If for some reason I do not, I will take out the old one. If this gets to be an issue, I'll just do that multi-template-in-one all the cool kids are doing, which will technically keep it qualified.
