We don't have to change pronouns (see Pokémon), but I'm just wondering if it's worth a note somewhere. (I know we're not gonna get an explanation anytime soon...) -- 02:15, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
:::It blatantly says all Heartless, Nobodies, etc., unless they are characters, are genderless in the MoS. It's probably just an inconsistent translation error; why would just one or two Heartless have genders while the other Mushrooms don't (I believe No. 8 is called male for no real reason...)? No. 10 is "it" again in the Journal, as well. It can be a Trivia note, but the pronoun should be left as "it" on the actual article to reflect the MoS, rest of the game, rest of the article, and the other articles in general. - 03:46, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
:I should think so too. If every other Mushroom is referred to as 'it' in the journals and reports, then we shouldn't overthink it when Mushroom X is mistakenly referred to as 'she'. ::As far as the MoS is concerned, that's because they are species and not individuals. The bosses (including the XIII) are individuals, so it's possible for them to have gender if the game says they do. As far as this instance, can we get a screenshot of the Japanese version of the battle scroll? We can check whether the gender connotation is present in the original -- if not, then this should just be a trivia note about a translator error. 15:38, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

No. 1 appears at Memory's Skyscraper after Xemnas is defeated. Sora has 30 seconds to hit it as many times as he can.
No. 1 will continuously attempt to use Reversal to get behind Sora, but this will allow Sora to use his own "Reversal" and "Quick Slide" reaction commands. Once both commands expire, No. 1 will dash at Sora, knocking him back. If Sora can get behind the Mushroom with either Reversal or Quick Slide, the Mushroom will become confused and drop its guard. (!) The key to defeat it is to wait past Reversal for the more effective Quick Slide, which instantly makes the Mushroom open to damage—it is also possible to make the Mushroom vulnerable using Reversal, but requires at least two uses and often sends Sora in the wrong direction, negating its effect. The window on Quick Slide is very small, and Sora can only deal nine hits at a time, so it is wise to use Wisdom Form or Final Form in order to deal them as quickly as possible.
Like Xemnas, this Heartless has the "Reversal" reaction, and like the Memory's Contortion battle, the key to dealing damage and avoiding being stunned is to use good timing with the reactions instead of mashing them as soon as possible. Its large size is a reference to Xemnas's role as the superior of Organization XIII, and its location is a reference to the first battleground with Xemnas.

Misbehaving Mushroom[edit]
Is there a prerequisite something that you have to do in order to spawn Mushroom I at the Memory Skyscraper? Every time I go there, only a bunch of Nobodies greet me and I'm getting tired of seeing them. I've gone as far as I can possibly go in the plot; only the final battle with Xemnas awaits me at the end. The other mushrooms don't seem to give me this problem; is anyone else experiencing it? I'll help you out, because it seems no-one else wants to, even though it's a few years late. When it says "defeat Xemnas", it means "finish the game". At the Battle Report, it will prompt a game-save. Do so, and it will say it saved the game before final battle before stamping your file with a Completed icon (a crown) and dump you back at the Altar of Naught. Mushroom I is where specified.
