==Revival==

Hey guys, I'm [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] and I've invited all editors here to address some stuff for reviving this wiki.  Please chime in however you like.  I'll break it into headings.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 09:11, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

===Expansion===
I'm getting together a list of ideas on a user subpage for expansion of the wiki; mostly it's ideas for articles, but there are some other things as well.  You can look at it at [[User:Scottch/Revive]], and feel free to edit the page to add something you think the wiki should have an article on.  If everyone is ok with the general idea of the list (and of course we can always add/remove stuff later), I'll move it to a page that's not in my userspace.  To create an article, just click a red link and start typing the content.  Articles don't have to be perfect right away.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 09:11, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

===Images===
A bunch of images are going to get deleted.  Remember that images of copyrighted characters, like the organization members and whatnot, can't just be used on a whim.  They have to be fair use, which if my impressions are right, basically means this:

#Source info.
#Only one picture per idea or concept; three different similar pictures of a character wouldn't be ok.
#Doesn't limit the copyright holder from making money off of it (you usually won't have to worry about this with pictures).

I think promotional photos, like the pictures found on [[Wikipedia:Organization XIII|Wikipedia's Organization XIII article]] are okay because they're used to promote the game.

A number of images lack sourcing info of any kind and are excessive in use - being used for decoration, rather than informative.  Unfortunately, Wikia doesn't really allow this :-(  I've tagged several for deletion and they'll probably get deleted soon by a staff member, but if you think one that was deleted was really fair use, don't panic; I saved all the pictures on my hard drive in case that happened.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 09:11, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
*Update, they're deleted.  I'll save them temporarily in case someone disagrees.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 05:09, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

===Titles===
I'm wondering about titles for the [[Organization]] members; should the page titles be just the name, or the full name and "title" they carry?  Here's screenshots of both possibilites for the [[Axel]] article:

[[Image:Org XIII Title I.PNG|500px]]

[[Image:Org XIII Title II.PNG|500px]]

What does everyone think?  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 09:11, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

JUST THE NAMES IN THE TITLES PLEASE! whats in the name goes into the URL, URLs should be kept short

Captain Obvious saves teh Day again!! - unsigned anonymous comment

*I was originally advocating the full title, but I'm starting to think you're right.  Those would be long titles.  Of course, Axel's is the longest, os it's not really representative of the length (I just used it becausae it's the only article on the XIII we've got right now), but still, short names might be better.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 19:16, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

*Now we have some more XIII members I think that their names are all moderately short, but putting a title in as well could be a little unnecessary... just redirect. Not everybody knows the full title anyway so the article would be difficult to find. - Flurryofdancingflame 16:31, 13 January 2007

*Put the names in then the titles in brackets. Just make it so that if someone searches the title, the will be brought the organisation member's page.- Bond-of-flame 21:26, 04 October 2007

===Administrators===
I have no idea who is going to even be here for editing, but eventually, if we have any growth at all, especially in membership, we're going to get vandals and spammers.  Staff members can help out (Look at [[Special:Listusers/staff]] and go talk to them on their [http://www.wikia.com Central Wikia] talk page) if you see any of that happening in [[Special:Recentchanges|recent changes.]]  They can also be reached in IRC on the irc.freenode.net network, in #wikia (to join, type "/server irc.freenode.net" and then "/join #wikia").

It may get to the point where it is no longer convenient to rely on staff members for vandal/spam cleanup, so eventually we'll have to find a way to come to a consensus and appoint ourselves an admin (I'm guessing we discuss it amongst ourselves and then inform a staff member who would make that person a sysop).  Any ideas on how we can do this are welcome, as I've got none.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 09:11, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
*Well, I can help on spam and vandalism...  I'm cleaning the Heartless page as I speak...  Making them into articles and whatnot.--[[User:Dreyfus2006|Dreyfus]] 05:08, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

:: OK, looks like two good admin candidates here, unless there are any objections I will set Scottch and Dreyfus as admins when I return from my week being Christmassy -- [[User:Sannse|sannse]] [[User_talk:Sannse|(talk)]] 10:47, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

:::I volunteer also, I guess. I've been a large editor of Kingdom Hearts articles at Wikipedia, as seen [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Apostrophe here]. [[User:Interrobang|Interrobang]] 06:36, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
::::The last thing I want to do is sow early hostilities, but I'm not sure we need more than two, and it seems like you're already editing very aggressively.  It's not something I would want in an admin of a very small wiki, but then again, I'm only one voice.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 08:18, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
:::::=/ [[User:Interrobang|Interrobang]] 08:21, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

If we're still going to show suspicion for admin volunteers, I wouldn't be confident in Dreyfus, with his apparent knack for speculation and bizarre contributions. Things like [[Template:Maleficent2]], [[:Category:Magic Heartless]], or [http://kingdomhearts.wikia.com/index.php?title=Heartless&oldid=2720], all of which have no place in actual canon, don't exactly make me brim with respect for Dreyfus. I'd prefer he learned to separate his own ideas from what the games actually say before becoming a judge. [[User:Interrobang|Interrobang]] 13:24, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
:More on this in a bit, but I just want to point out that admins are not content judges.  As I understand, they are around to assist new people, prevent disruption, and facilitate collaborative editing.  Dreyfus has been more than responsive to concerns I've brought up in the past. Perhaps you'd have similar luck if you brought your article concerns to him.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 13:27, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
::I'd still prefer it if admins didn't violate basic content policy. Otherwise sets a bad example, as admins are supposed to be the models for users to aspire to. Even if they're theoretically only supposed to do what you say, they're realistically more than that. [[User:Interrobang|Interrobang]] 13:43, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
:::Thing is, he's made far more helpful edits than poor ones, and has been pretty open about things like that.  No one has to be perfect; none of the three of us are, by far.  As far as "content policy" goes, we only really have a loose aim here, nothing concrete.  You keep trying to drag policy, practice and standards from Wikipedia to here, and it just doesn't work that way.  You should take a look at [[wikia:Forum:Building_a_community]] at the first heading, it's what I've been trying to convey tonight.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 13:51, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

::::I'll add a few thoughts here if I may :)

::::It's sensible for an admin to have enough knowledge of the subject of a wiki to tell what is vandalism and what isn't, but it's certainly true that an admins role should not be to decide what route the community takes in terms of content.  Whether non-canon information is included is a matter for the community to decide.  And so are questions of what related material should be included.  It's important to remember that this isn't Wikipedia, and you could go in all sorts of directions away from the "neutral-point-of-view encyclopaedia".  For example, you could allow comment and opinion in a way that Wikipedia can't.  That's what makes Wikia different from Wikipedia.

::::But all this is questions for the community.  An admins role is to help keep the site tidy, maintained, and running smoothly.  I think Scottch makes a very good point above actually, one of the best skills an admin can have is in communication.  Someone willing to talk, and to listen, and to encourage the rest of the community to do the same, will really have an advantage in being a good admin.

::::Let me know when you are ready for me to push the admin buttons -- [[User:Sannse|sannse]] [[User_talk:Sannse|(talk)]] 15:15, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

:::::Scottch most definitely should be an administrator, that's for sure.  I guess it isn't quite my place on the subject, but I do nominate him if I can, unless he already is one.

:::::On other terms, I would like to remind you all that I am just a kid!  I can't determine one thing from another!  I try my best, but seriously!  Hurtful comments don't help at all.  They just make me feel bad and degrade any work I do.  And think about other video game Wikis, like the Super Mario Wiki.  How many times have you seen 100% fact?  You can never have 100% fact directly from a video game, or else almost all articles will be short, and the result will be the exact same articles as Wikipedia.  The Heartless, for example.  With many small 100% fact articles on each Heartless, the tons and tons of articles produced by each individual one would make tons of stubs, resulting in a simple list of all Heartless and no benefit.  But this isn't exactly the right place to be discussing this, is it?

:::::Anyway, in terms of an administrator, I don't want to appreciate or depreciate the generous nomination for myself (though I have had experience in administrating thingimabober wikistuff).  I would like to point out that a friendly (but efficient) administrator, be it myself, Scottch, or anybody out there, would be much more beneficial than a stingy one.  I won't say any names on that part.  That was just a word from me, no offense meant to anybody.  And sorry if I've been any bother, I just want to help the community and this fine, fine Wikia which I'm guessing had just gotten off its feet.  So sorry if I've been any trouble; I'll see what I can do to make things better.

:::::Such is the trouble with us poor ADDers, eh?--[[User:Dreyfus2006|Dreyfus]] 20:43, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

::::::All's good Dreyfus, and your contributions are certainly appreciated :)

::::::How's this for a solution?...  I'm male Scottch admin and bureaucrat, then in a month or so, he can look again at the situation and see who else should be added as admin.  I certainly think you should have more than one eventually, several is better for continuity, but one is a start and will mean that you don't need to ask staff when you want to add more.  -- [[User:Sannse|sannse]] [[User_talk:Sannse|(talk)]] 09:44, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

:::::::I'd hoped someone else would reply first, but maybe they'll see mine in my contribs or recent changes and offer their opinion<!-----HINT HINT IF YOU'RE READING THIS ANYONE----->.  That seems like a good solution to me, but for obvious reasons others should voice whether or not they're ok with it.  Specifically, no one's said anything about my adminship except Dreyfus, and while I'm thankful for your confidence, if anyone has any objections to this, they'd be best heard now rather than later.  Don't worry, I won't take it personally :-)  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 11:47, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Well I take lack of "noooooo..." to be full agreemnet ;) So I've set Scottch as admin and bureaucrat.  Thanks for taking this on Scottch, and let me know if you need any help -- [[User:Sannse|sannse]] [[User_talk:Sannse|(talk)]] 09:29, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

*Yay!  I agree; that is a good idea.--[[User:Dreyfus2006|Dreyfus]] 01:01, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

For editing help, see [[Help:Editing]].  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 09:11, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

===This Page===
Community Portals are places to bring up issues to everyone on the wiki, so if you have something that you'd like everyone's attention or need help or whatever, you can edit here.  To reply to any section, just click the "edit" button in the right margin or the edit button at the top of the page to edit the entire page.  I've added <nowiki> a "__NEWSECTIONLINK__" bit to the top of the page; as long as that's there, you can start a new heading by clicking the "+" button on top of the page, so please don't remove the "__NEWSECTIONLINK__". </nowiki>

<nowiki>One more thing: it's a good idea to sign comments you make with 4 tildaes: ~~~~.  </nowiki>This will put your username as a link to [[Special:Mypage|your userpage]] and also put a date and timestamp on it.  This can help us keep track of who says what.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 09:11, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

=== <nowiki>{{SITENAME}}</nowiki> change ===

I've asked if the SITENAME (which appears when you type <nowiki>{{SITENAME}}</nowiki> and is the heading for all project namespace pages) can be changed from "Kingdom Hearts Wiki" to "Kingdom Hearts", since it's shorter and more manageable, and more standard to other Wikia wikis.  However, I told them I'd see if anyone has any objections.  So, anyone?  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 04:32, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
*Never mind, [http://www.wikia.com/index.php?title=Forum:SITENAME_change%3F&diff=61222&oldid=61220 someone brought up] a couple things that make it a bad idea.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 04:50, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Huge thanks to everyone who is helping expand the wiki! It's coming along great.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 00:18, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

== IRC ==

I've set up an IRC channel for us at freenode (irc.freenode.net).  There's the main Wikia channel at #wikia, but now we have #khwiki.  If we oculd get together here and there, it'd be great!  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 10:46, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

== Images in context? ==
Hey, what do any editors think about the images being in context of the game?  I think it might be better to have them from the game wherever possible, rather than just from a Disney movie, but we can't have it both ways due to fair use rules.  So, can I get some opinions?  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 11:59, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
*Oh another thing, can people who uploaded images have actual ''links'' to the websites where they got them?  Without a source, it's not really fair use.  I hate to be a nag, but it's important that the wiki remains free content.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 12:40, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

==Stuff to delete==
Commented out, see [[Kingdom Hearts Wiki:Pages for Deletion]].<!---
*[[Template:maleficent2]] - Speculation that overestimates the actual unity of those villains. (Pete: "Hey, wanna some Heartless?" Villain: "LOL SURE") Some weren't even in contact with Pete.
*[[:Category:Fantasia]] - We shouldn't do categories based on indivdual movies, especially one who contributed little.
*[[:Category:Pure Heartless]] and [[:Category:Artificial Heartless]] - Not canon names; replaced with [[:Category:Pureblood Heartless]] and [[:Category:Emblem Heartless]].
Discuss at your leisure. [[User:Interrobang|Interrobang]] 14:14, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

I'll divide them into subheaders if that's ok, so it doens't get too confusing.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 14:22, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

==={{tname|maleficent2}}===
*I'm a little torn - several of these were cohorts of Maleficent's, although "council" is probably inaccurate.  At the very least it should be '''moved''', but a compendium of KH2 Disney bosses would be of benefit.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 14:22, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
**[[Template:Disney]]. Could use a better name. [[User:Interrobang|Interrobang]] 14:40, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
***To avoid cluttering, maybe both {{tname|maleficent}} and {{tname|maleficent2}} should just be redirected to that.  The template could always be moved... maybe {{tname|disneyvillains}}?  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 14:44, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
****Bleh, works for me.  I just overcategorize stuff.  Council on the second one?  That was my bad.  Heh...  I guess it pays to double check.  I just played Kingdom Hearts over again, and Clayton doesn't work with the first template.  The rest on the first template, though, are completely accurate.

==Overategorization==
I'm concerned over articles becoming massively overcategorized.  Characters don't have to be categorized by every location they appear in.  Most of the Organization has nothing to do with Hollow Bastion - at best, you've got Saix for his role in the war of 1000 Heartless, but even that is a stretch.  And not every enemy needs to be in the Olympic Coliseum category just because they appear in a tournament - if that happens, every enemy will be there, and the category will be almost useless.  There has to be more than just a passing association.  Am I the only one who feels this way?  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 15:24, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
:You mean, like the majority of "See also"s? Not that I'm doing the categories in retaliation for that, mind. I do it because it's a nice "this character has appeared in this world" checklist and perhaps because you clearly stated "For now, let's get as many as possible, and we can prune later." [[User:Interrobang|Interrobang]] 15:35, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
::See alsos can have relations established by category or comment - the relationship is closer than that of these categories.  See also sections also invite improvement, while categories on their own don't - the two are not really comparable.  It devalues categories to make them simple correlations - X and Y were involved/intertwined in some Z fashion once in the game, so it gets categorized that way?  When I think "Radiant Garden" I think "1000 Heartless, the big mace ball heartless, Merlin, Leon, Sephiroth".  I certainly don't think "Xaldin".  He did nothing but laugh facelessly.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 15:40, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
:::I strongly agree with Scottch, a character should only be in a world's category if that character only is in that world.--[[User:Painocus|Painocus]]
::::That's the format I was using.  If it is unique to that world, or is heavily focused on that world (i.e. [[Strafer]] being in the Space Paranoids category as opposed to [[Behemoth]] being in the Olympus Coliseum category).  Most Heartless, at least, don't belong in any world category, except maybe the Coliseum-only ones, the bosses, and maybe the Invisibles and Angel Stars (I don't know why; I just feel like they deserve being in End of the World's category).  Heartless that have a specific theme, though (i.e. Strafers to Space Paranoids or Defenders to Hollow Bastion) ''could'' be in a World category, in my terms.  Also, some more smaller groups, such as the Mushroom Heartless, can be handled with categories if there is mass See Alsos (i.e. it is better than having a link to each other Mushroom on the See Also section).--[[User:Dreyfus2006|Dreyfus]] 01:47, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
:::::Ok, I'm gonna decategorize then.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 02:40, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

===Heartless Categorization===
This is at least the way I use, that seems to be most effective.  Any Heartless that does not bear Ansem's emblem (in other words, a "natural" Heartless not created by a third-person source like Xehanort's Heartless) goes in the Pure Heartless category.  All Heartless bearing Ansem's emblem (in other words, "artificially made" Heartless that, if left alone, would not normally exist and were created by third-person sources) go in the Artificial Heartless category.  Any Boss or Mini-Boss Heartless goes in the Boss category as well.  ALL Heartless with the exceptions of the White Mushroom and Rare Truffle go in the Enemies category.  ALL Heartless go in the Heartless category.  Unless world-themed or world-unique, avoid giving a Heartless a World category.--[[User:Dreyfus2006|Dreyfus]] 01:55, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
:Well, it may be helpful to only categorize as the "least" category, meaning not including cateogries.  What do you think of that?  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 02:40, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

==Spoilers==
For information regarding the story directly, with non-minor spoilers, please put [[Template:Spoiler]] before the concerning text, and [[Template:Spoilerend]] at the end of the text.--[[User:Dreyfus2006|Dreyfus]] 01:55, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

== Deletion ==

I've started a page to propose things for deletion, like templates, categories and actual pages if need be.  It can be found at [[Kingdom Hearts Wiki:Pages for Deletion]], so feel free to start listing things or commenting on other entries.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 22:51, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

== Deleting copyright violations ==

We've chosen a great subject to wiki about, but there's one drawback: copyright.  Pretty much everything on here is copyrighted by the people who made the game.  We already have a massive number of images with NO sourcing info whatsoever.  Copyright violations can easily get out of hand on a media-oriented wiki like this.  Here's what I propose we do, and what I will start doing if I hear no objections:

I'm going to go through every image and tag the ones without sources with a template.  I'm also going to go through the ones that don't credit the copyright holder and tag those (those will be easier to fix).  Anyone is free to help me tag them.  I'll notify the uploader of any such images of this thread and of this activity.  Anything whose tag stays up for more than one month gets deleted.  What do you guys say?  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 23:25, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

===Plowing ahead with this===
I haven't heard any objections, so I'm going to start tagging unsourced images with {{tname|unsourcedpic}} and notifying uploaders.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 05:34, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

== Images revisited ==

I hate to start griping again, but here goes anyhow.

===Images in context===
I didn't get any responses to [[#Images in Context]], so does that mean it would be better to have pics from the games, rather than from movies and stuff?

===Concept Art===
When higher quality game screenshots/sprites are available, would it be better to use them or concept art?  I'm personally of the opinion actual in-game components would be better.  I thought of this because of [[:Image:RIKU2.jpg]]; I have an image of Riku's model used in the game that I think would be better, but since that might set a precedent I figured I'd better get some feedback beforehand.  [[User:Scottch|Scottch]] 05:39, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
*Well, you could include both as an image gallery.  Put the official artwork as the image at the top of the article.  Then, if you don't use the screenshot or so later in the article, put it on the bottom in an image gallery.--[[User:Dreyfus2006|Dreyfus]] 01:43, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
**Ugh, didn't realize you had replied.  Well, we can't really have two pictures of a single game element in an article, since its copyrighted.  Only one is allowed under [[w:fair use|fair use]].  '''''[[User:Scottch|<font color=#00cccc>Scott]]</font>[[User talk:Scottch|<font color=#ff9900>ch]]'''''</font> 21:01, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

== Admin notes ==

I've taken a couple steps that I'd like feedback on, since as admin actions they can't be simply reverted:

#I've [[Special:Log/protect|protected some templates]] and pages due to their being copyright info - most are semi-protection, so registered users may still edit them.  My reasoning is that compliance with the GFDL requires a lot of attribution and such, so these should really not be subject to casual vandalism.  On that note, if you ever copy a template or something from Wikipedia or Central Wikia, please put either {{tname|wikipedia}} or {{tname|wikia}} on it (noincluded).
#I also [http://kingdomhearts.wikia.com/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Recentchangestext&action=history changed] the [[Special:Recentchanges|Recentchanges]] text so it gives quick links to all namespaces.  Any disagreement or ideas for other changes can be posted here (only sysops can edit MediaWiki namespace pages).

It's almost sad, looking at Cloud Strife's page, all it sais is "Cloud is a character in kingdom hearts, from final fantasy vii." Why doesn't some one just "adopt" the pages from final fantasy wiki or regular wikipedia, with permision. I would, but i dont remeber how. Please add below, if you have any thoughts on the subject. -- Parad0x
*Well, it's still very much a growing wiki.  Ideally all content will be original eventually, but stuff can legally be copypasted if {{tname|wikipedia}} is added, however, adding original content would be far better.  '''''[[User:Scottch|<font color=#00cccc>Scott]]</font>[[User talk:Scottch|<font color=#ff9900>ch]]'''''</font> 03:08, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
**Speaking of which, how detailed should the "background" of the FF characters (eg: their original games). Like the [[Leon]] article, less than half of it is about his Kingdom Hearts version?[[User:SithPower|SithPower]] 14:07, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

== Ranked ==

We've been ranked #237 as of now in the [[w:c:wikis:List of Wikia wikis]], which lists the 250 biggest wikis (out of over 2000 wikis in Wikia).  Two months back, we had about 20 articles and were not much more than a start-up project.  Great going, guys!  '''''[[User:Scottch|<font color=#00cccc>Scott]]</font>[[User talk:Scottch|<font color=#ff9900>ch]]'''''</font> 22:42, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

== Naming conventions ==

Hey, just wanted to bring up a naming conventions issue, like with the Final Fantasy characters.  Specifically [[Squall]], which has been moved to [[Squall Leonheart]].  Wouldn't it make more sense to name him as "Leon", as he's called in game, instead of by what he's called in Final Fantasy games?  It seems like Kingdom Hearts info on him is far more relevant than Final Fantasy stuff.  '''''[[User:Scottch|<font color=#00cccc>Scott]]</font>[[User talk:Scottch|<font color=#ff9900>ch]]'''''</font> 02:09, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
*I agree, I think...  Maybe the whole name is better, maybe not.  I mean, Cloud Strife sounds better to me than Cloud, but Squall Leonheart sounds worse than Leon...  I guess I'm neutral.--[[User:Dreyfus2006|Dreyfus]] 05:01, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
**Well, my experience with video game enthusiasts tells me I'll probably get outvoted on whether to include last names, so I'm not gonna push for that, but the Squall/Leon thing is a distinct quality of his character in KH as opposed to FF.  '''''[[User:Scottch|<font color=#00cccc>Scott]]</font>[[User talk:Scottch|<font color=#ff9900>ch]]'''''</font> 09:46, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
***Go with what the games say. If there's no last name, don't include them. This is Kingdom Hearts Wiki, not Final Fantasy Wiki, and thus should be based on information from the games. [[User:Interrobang|Interrobang]] 07:53, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

== First block ==

Our first real block: I've blocked {{user|Bacon}} for 24 hours, he's taken the disagreements over the fates of [[Larxene]], [[Marluxia]] and others killed in Chain of Memories to a disruptive level, consistently adding "death" headers (after being reverted after changing one to "loss" and being reverted) and vandalizing the [[Larxene]] article.  If there's a lot of opposition to it I'll unblock.  '''''[[User:Scottch|<font color=#00cccc>Scott]]</font>[[User talk:Scottch|<font color=#ff9900>ch]]'''''</font> 05:50, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

== Popular pages ==

Has anyone noticed that the "most popular" pages on the new skin are just random articles?  I recently found out that sysops can program in what articles will show up; the idea being that we as a community decide which 5 articles we want to draw readers' attention to.  So what does everyone think we should put up there?

It's my opinion that we should go for some variety; a mixture of articles from different games, perhaps, and maybe some good and bad guys, a location, something.  I'm not sure what exact articles I'd say we should put up, but I'd welcome any degree of specificity for suggestions.  '''''[[User:Scottch|<span style="color:#00cccc">Scott</span>]][[User talk:Scottch|<span style="color:#ff9900">ch</span>]]''''' 02:10, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

== Job List? ==

Hey fellow KH peoples. I've been working on Lostpedia for quite some time and have just discovered the KH Wiki. I'd love to contribute, but where is your job list? [[User:PkmnTrainerJ|PkmnTrainerJ]] 01:29, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
==Help from your friendly neighbour==
Hi, I'm from the [http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page Final Fantasy Wiki]. We've recently adopted the policy of '''Only FF Content Allowed''', and one of the moderators had the idea of transferring our KH content to the KH Wiki; thus, over the next few days (maybe even less) we'll be transferring some of the content from the FF Wiki to this Wiki. If you're okay with it, I think I'll even add in a few templates. Of course, we're only going to transfer the necessary content, that is, we're only going to transfer the content were needed. Cheers! == We need new admins! ==

Ladies and gentlement, we have reached a situation very much like last year; there are no longer anyone around with the authority to manage this wiki (and by manage, I mean be able to delete articles, ban vandals, uphold rules, etc.). While the former management system was more of a monarchi, we strive for a democratic solution, we therefore need a handful of people (3-6 to be more specific) who has the time, knowledge (both of Kingdom Hearts and of Wiki Markup), and will to become admins (sysops). If you think you fit the bill, then give me a heads up and we'll talk it over. And for those of you who don't make the cut (in case too many apply), no worries, any suggestions you make in the future will, of course, still be taken into consideration and your voice will still mean exactly as much as everyone elses ^_^ So, I hope to hear from any interested parties soon. --[[User:Hecko X|Hecko X]] 18:24, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

*[[User:Bluerfn|Blue。]] 20:06, 19 December 2007 (UTC) Hey there, Hecko. I am newcomer to this Wiki and I would like to apply for the position of admin. My expertise are more towards FF, but I have completed Kingdom Hearts and CoM, and have been with my younger brother enough to know some bits of Kingdom Hearts II. But what is more important is the fact that I want to help cleanup the mess that this wiki has become. I want to learn to make a proper wiki so that I'll be able to organize another wiki properly. Hope you take this into consideration.
*<s>[[User:BlueHighwind|BlueHighwind]] 20:10, 19 December 2007 (UTC) I'd love to be apart of a wiki that isn't all about idiot Forum threads being repeated over and over again.  Plus its always been a dream of mine to ban at least one Vandal jerk.  If you want credentials, I too am a Mod on the Final Fantasy Wiki, and I've played and beaten every Kingdom Hearts game ever made.</s>
**I don't have the pateince to hang around here anymore.  Two minutes to load a page is bullshit. - [[User:BlueHighwind|BlueHighwind]] 21:15, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
*[[User:Hexedmagica|Hexed]] 23:15, 19 December 2007 (UTC) Hey Hecko, I'd like to nominate myself for admin, I have completed Kingdom Hearts I&II and know general Wiki markup.
*[[User:Cloudofdarkness|Cloudofdarkness]]:I wouldn't mind the job, I completed KH2 with a 100%, and am leveling up enough to beat Kurt Zisa. And I have plenty of ideas.
*[[User: NeloAngelo|Nelo]]: WE STILL NEED MORE Admins, last time when I visited this site, some goddamm son of a bitch vandal messed up Roxas, Demyx, and Axel's, page. Since I don't have rollback rights, it gave me hell reverting it. Curse you all vandals, curese you all. If possible, I'd like to take the job.

Well, it would seem that we have a couple of able bodies ready to take on the job. But for all fairness sake, I'll wait before notifying Sannse, in case people didn't notice this topic, but want to apply.<br>
'''(EDIT)''' I'm bumping the topic, so it doesn't get lost in the depths of the recent changes list. But if no one else applies, I'll notify Sannse of the current list, and in case more able people want to help out, we can take it as it comes. --[[User:Hecko X|Hecko X]] 13:14, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
*I would like to nominate myself for Admin too. I just fixed the forum, and would like to create templates for the site also :) -[[User:Azul81677|Azul]] 02:04, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

So is everyone happy that all those volunteering above should be admins? or would you rather vote on a few?  You might also want to consider making some of you bureaucrats, so you can make your others admins in the future without having to come to staff... -- [[User:Sannse|sannse]]<staff /> ([[User talk:sannse|talk]]) 17:27, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

So the final list of admin nominees are:
*Hecko X
*Bluerfn
*Hexedmagica
*Cloudofdarkness
*NeloAngelo
*Azul81677
We should vote? Or should I just pick....hehehe... [[User:Bluerfn|Blue。]] 19:53, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
:As things are right now, I don't think we have enough "regulars" to be able to make any kind of voting system work. Out of the five others, I've only regularly seen Blue make stuff from scratch in wiki-markup, but I'm pretty sure that Hexed and Azul usually go around fixing talk templates and other stuff on the FFWiki. I have no idea of what Nelo's skill level is, but I know that Cloud needs more practice, but if he sticks with it and learns the markup, then sure, one day. By the way, any word from... Jay(???) on the bottom banner thing messing up on IE? --[[User:Hecko X|Hecko X]] 20:55, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

I'd like to help, and I'll do so if I can. But my schedule is somewhat uncertain since in 2008, I'll be starting secondary school. I don't really know but I've been told that I'll only have three subjects to deal with during the first three months, and if that is true, I should have a fair amount of free time, because seriously, my daily life consists of school, this computer and homework. But I'd need to know the problems first.[[User:TheSwordofDoubt|TheSwordofDoubt]] 09:00, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

:OK, so how about this... we could make all 6 of you admins, and also two of you bureaucrats.  We could have a quick vote here, with each person naming their top two choices for bureaucrat.  I will be happy with the result if at least the six prospective admins vote, and very pleased if a few others do too.  This could be more of a discussion than a vote if you like... what do you think? -- [[User:Sannse|sannse]]<staff /> ([[User talk:sannse|talk]]) 21:09, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

{{HexedTalk|text=I guess that could work.}}
Yes, that would probably work. As for Bueaurcrats, I nominated myself and Blue, solely based on that I have to vote, and out of the six, we are the most experienced with wiki-markup and inner workings of a wikia. --[[User:Hecko X|Hecko X]] 03:27, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
{{HexedTalk|text=I set my vote for Bureaucrats as Hecko and Bluer, as they as far as I know are the most skilled in coding and wiki-markup out of all of the nominees}}
All right, then for Bureaucrates I vote for myself and Hecko, simply because both of us are more than interested to handle and maintain the wiki, and both have knowledge on the wikia works. [[User:Bluerfn|Blue。]] 23:52, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

I vote Blue and Hecko :) -[[User:Azul81677|Azul]] 03:04, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

We're waiting for Nelo and Cloud's vote, though by right we already have a majority. Someone should notify them of this. [[User:Bluerfn|Blue。]] 22:45, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

I vote Blue and Azul, no pun intended. [[User:Cloudofdarkness|Cloudofdarkness]]

I personally think that we do not need that many admins. Six is too much. Even in the FFWiki we only have an active four. I think four is just enough. Two bureaucrats and two sysops is more than enough. [[User:Bluerfn|Blue。]] 23:26, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
:By that he means four active sysops, two of whom are also bureaucrats, not two of each. Just so there aren't any misunderstandings along the way... --[[User:Hecko X|Hecko X]] 23:32, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

What about mods? The people who aren't admined or whatever, can they be moderators? Just throwing it out there. -[[User:Azul81677|Azul]] 00:49, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
