Aerial Recovery is a support ability in Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. The main function of the ability helps Sora or characters in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days get their balance back after being knocked into the air by pressing c (or x in Final Mix) or B button in 358/2 Days. The player learns this ability as Roxas after defeating the Dusk Nobodies in the Station of Serenity. It then gets transferred to Sora after Sora wakes up from his sleep. It costs 2 Ability Points.

Aerial Recovery (エアリカバリー Ea Rikabarī?, lit. "Air Recovery") is a technique introduced in Kingdom Hearts II. It allows the user to upright themselves after being knocked into the air by an enemy attack.

Mechanics[edit]

In Kingdom Hearts II, Aerial Recovery is a support ability triggered by pressing Circle, X in the Japanese releases, after getting knocked into the air. It costs 2 AP to equip. In contrast to Retaliating Slash, Sora is granted brief invulnerability when performing Aerial Recovery, and can parry enemy attacks.

In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Aerial Recovery is an ability panel that can be leveled up from Aerial Recovery LV1 to Aerial Recovery LV2 and Aerial Recovery LV3 by linking A. Recovery LV+ Ⓛ (リカバリーアップⓁ Rikabarī Appu Ⓛ?, lit. "Recovery Up Ⓛ") panels. It is triggered by pressing B after getting knocked into the air. At higher levels it can be activated more quickly after taking a hit and the user recovers movement and action capability faster afterwards.

In Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, Aerial Recovery is a Bonus Booster ability that is triggered by pressing B after getting knocked back.

In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, Aerial Recovery is a reprisal command that is triggered by pressing Square, Circle in the Japanese releases, after getting knocked into the air. It can be equipped in place of a Payback-type command.

In Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Aerial Recovery is a reprisal command that is triggered by pressing Y after getting knocked back. It can be equipped in place of a Payback-type command. It grants +1 to Defense when attached to a Dream Eater recipe.

In Kingdom Hearts III, Aerial Recovery is an action ability that costs 2 AP to equip. It is triggered by pressing Circle, X in the Japanese releases, after getting knocked into the air.
