Orichalcum is an item found in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II that is used in Item Synthesis.  Unlike many other Synthesis materials, Orichalcums are never dropped from Heartless and can only be found in chests or won through quests.  The only Heartless that drops them is the rare Bulky Vendor in Kingdom Hearts II, and even then certain conditions must be met for the drop to happen.

Orichalcum is a material type introduced in Kingdom Hearts. Orichalcum materials contain the rarest of metals. As of Kingdom Hearts II, the Orichalcum was redubbed as the "Orichalcum+", while the new material Orichal took the name "Orichalcum".

Named for a legendary material, Orichalcum are used in making some of the most powerful and valuable itemsIn the first game, they are key ingrediants to synthesizing the Three Stars, Power Ups, and the Atlas Armlet. In the second game, items that use Orichalcum include the Petit Ribbon, Ribbon, Moon Amulet and Star Charm.  Most importantly, they are used in the creation of Goofy and Donald's most powerful weapons, Save the King and Save the Queen, as well as the powered-up + versions of each.
Design
A basic Orichalcum is represented by a star-shaped, aqua-colored jewel. Its upper half is lined by five triangular spikes that alternate from large to small. Its lower half has two slanted spikes on either side and one diamond-shaped spike on its bottom. The center of the jewel is adorned by white sparkles.

An Orichalcum+ is represented by a large, aqua-colored jewel. It is more snowflake-like in design that a basic Orichalcum. Its top half is lined by five triangular spikes that alternate from large to small in size. The two smaller spikes fork into three points at their tips, and all five spikes are connected by four thin bars. Its lower half is lined by four slanted spikes, two on each side of the jewel. One large, diamond-shaped spike is placed on its bottom, and there are white sparkles decorating the center of the jewel.

In addition, an even rarer version of Orichalcum called Orichalcum+ exists, and is a key ingrediant in synthesizing Sora's most powerful Keyblade, Ultima Weapon.
In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Orichalcum is colored light pink, and consists of a large, cube-shaped crystal flanked by two smaller crystals.

Orichalcum is a material type introduced in Kingdom Hearts. Orichalcum materials contain the rarest of metals. As of Kingdom Hearts II, the Orichalcum was redubbed as the "Orichalcum+", while the new material Orichal (オリハル Oriharu?) took the name "Orichalcum".

Its lower half has two slanted spikes on either side and one diamond-shaped spike on its bottom. The center of the jewel is adorned by white sparkles.

In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Orichalcum is colored light pink, and consists of a large, cube-shaped crystal flanked by two smaller crystals.
