Diving Strike is a technique in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance and Kingdom Hearts III. It allows the user to strike while falling.

Mechanics[edit]

Kairi using Diving Strike in Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind.

In Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Diving Strike is a command exclusive to Dive Mode. It can be activated by pressing A, X in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD. When used, the user doubles their speed, hitting enemies along the way. Diving Strike can be used 3 times in a row to form a combo. Diving Strike deals 40 damage, instantly defeating any regular enemy it hits.

In Kingdom Hearts III, Diving Strike replaces the attack command when Sora or Kairi[KH III RM] falls from great height. It can be used to inflict damage, or break large objects containing treasure chests. Sora's version has him pause in midair before piercing the ground blade-first and generating a shockwave that can strike multiple enemies, while Kairi's version is identical to her Strike Shift attack.
