He originates from the Disney television series ''{{w|DuckTales}}'', making him and [[Webby Vanderquack]] the first two characters that debuted in a Disney television series to appear in the ''Kingdom Hearts'' series.

Launchpad's power is channeled by the [[Book of Prophecies]] to create the {{khux|Launchpad McQuack}} Medal.

 

Launchpad is a muscular, anthropomorphic drake. He has red hair and wears a green baseball cap, a leather jacket with a fur-lined collar, a green undershirt, and white slacks.

Launchpad originates from Disney's television series ''{{w|DuckTales}}'' and {{w|DuckTales (2017 TV series)|its 2017 reboot}} as Scrooge's personal pilot (as well as his general chauffeur in the reboot). He has a tendency of crashing anything he commandeers, although he takes pride in said crashes and sees them as achievements. Launchpad transports and often accompanies Scrooge and his group across their many adventures via the Sunchaser, a tan bi-plane (a red cargo plane owned by Scrooge in the reboot), among other vehicles. He also appeared in ''{{w|Darkwing Duck}}'' as Darkwing Duck's sidekick; in the ''DuckTales'' reboot, this is recontextualized as Launchpad being a big fan of the ''Darkwing Duck'' TV series that exists within the show itself.

Launchpad is voiced by {{w|Terry McGovern (actor)|Terry McGovern}} in the original ''DuckTales'' series and ''Darkwing Duck'', and by {{w|Beck Bennett}} in the ''DuckTales'' reboot.
