Design[edit]
The Horseless Headless Horsemann is a skeleton wearing a black robe with a short charcoal cape, as well as black boots and gloves. Its most distinguishing characteristic is the Jack-o-Lantern it wears in place of a head, with a small branch sprouting from its side. It wields a large battle axe with a malevolent grin carved into its blunt end. The Horsemann has an ever-shifting purple glow.
In the Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance Ultimania, Nomura explains that he chose the Horsemann as a secret boss because he feels that it fits well with the Halloween theme Julius sets.
Strategy[edit]
The Horsemann is capable of outrunning Riku, so heavy use of Free-Flow Action is recommended in order to survive. Heavy damage dealing Dream Eater Links are also recommended.
Other appearances[edit]
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance[edit]
Upon returning to Traverse Town's Second District, Riku is surprised as all the lights flicker before turning off completely. A pool of darkness appears before him, out of it emerging the battle-ready Horseless Headless Horsemann.
Origin[edit]
The Horseless Headless Horsemann made its first appearance in Team Fortress 2's Scream Fortress update as the game's first boss monster. It is the undead form of Silas Mann, co-owner of Zepheniah Mann & Sons Quarterly Concern, the company which would later be known as Mann Co. He perished shortly after his brother, Zepheniah, later becoming the Horsemann and haunting the now defunct Mann Manor.
