I personally first saw it as being similar to the Blow-off command (and have since retracted that opinion), but others over at the SmashWiki have likened it to the "Merge" reaction command tied to Larxene. I can't say for sure whether or not Sakurai outright based Sora's back throw on this, but I figured I'd throw my two cents in. :He says in the "original game", which sounds like it means KH1, but I suppose that can be a translation thing. The thing is that it isn't clear what move it is based on, but it's definitely based on something because of that comment. I know SmashWiki mentions Merge, but I feel they are a bit more speculative in move origins than we are as a wiki. So we need to find a right balance between noting the move it is based on, and not speculating. {{User:TheSilentHero/Sig}} 17:59, 4 February 2022 (UTC)

::SmashWiki has...a bit of a speculation problem, {{ssb|SW:SPEC|in spite of any policy we have against that}} (note that this is coming from an active SmashWiki admin). I know the whole "original game" translation can be finicky, especially since the Bubble trophy in Smash 3DS had that particular phrase mistranslated, and was made in reference to Brawl instead of the first Zelda game, so maybe it does mean KH1, but even then, I'd be even more confused because the only grabbing action I can think of is grabbing onto a vine. Potential answer[edit]

When I made my most recent edit (at the time of posting this message) to the page, I caught the hidden message tied to the description of Sora's back throw:

""Sora performed throws like these in the original game" when?"

Aidanzapunk (talk) 21:10, 3 February 2022 (UTC)

TheSilentHero 17:59, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
SmashWiki has...a bit of a speculation problem, in spite of any policy we have against that (note that this is coming from an active SmashWiki admin).
